When you quoted me above JustKieran this piece of text was in my quote:

"Plus, Commons needs games to be sharp. Being in and out of the team does neither party any favours."

I dunno what is going on? It didnt write that. I agree with it 100% but I didnt write it. Madness!

I don't actually have any evidence for this, mate, just thinking out loud. Don't worry, I'm probably just talking out my * (I know, here of all places, where the standard of debate is so high, just not acceptable :54:).

That last bit was for you, Vikingbhoy. ;-)

Naw he wouldnt play an inferior player just to improve him over an established player. He just wouldnt. It would defeat the purpose of trying to earn your place in the side if any randomer will be picked in front of the best players.

I reckon we'll see more of Commons if he's fit now. Six weeks out with a broken toe is a good reason for Ronny to have saved him for last night. Will probably compete with Armstrong when they're both back fit. Can even rest Johanson in that situation.

Johanson should be dropped in all honesty. I think he thinks that place is his. A wee wake up call might help him.

He's been * since the start of the season aye. Played a bit better last night though without being overly good. It's increasingly obvious though that its pointless to play him anywhere except through the middle.

Commons, Johanson, Rogic and Armstrong should be competing for two spots while GMS and Forrest compete for the other. I think our play is more balanced that way.

I agree. Commons takes his place in the 10 role simple as that.

The poster was having a go at Ronny in The Ronny thread for not starting Commons from the start of the season, hes carried his same conversation over onto this thread saying the same thing, even though he was told why Commons wasnt started on the Ronny thread.

I am not interested in having argument with you mate because i see you are a decent poster,i am sorry if i come across as bit of a * sometime but honestly i am not.

I understand why he keeps Johansen in the team. He provides a high tempo, frenetic energy in midfield. Unfortunately, right now that energy is coming out like a shotgun blast, when we need a laserbeam. He's as dangerous as he is useful. He chased down and harried to create the loose ball to Commons for the first goal, but it wasn't skill. It was just dogged determination.

I think he sees himself as 'pack leader' or some such, and is trying to do way too much. He needs to be stepped back for his own good. Red cards or injuries will ensue if he's like this for much longer. Commons starting, subbing Johansen on at 60mins is what I'd suggest is best for both players right now

He looks like he's trying to be Broony to be honest, not realising that Broony has other stuff to his game and Johansen can have so much more.

What would we do without him in Europe? He's one of our few big game players.

Agreed he should never be out of the team when fit.

Good goal. I jumped up celebrating before it went in. If only that was the winning goal it should've been.

I think he's improving in this current side which is good going considering his age. For a period in the first, with his tail up, he was fantastic.

    Just no.

When we are on the front foot he is good, but defensively and trying to get forward he is murder. Just chasing shadows when he's trying to cover back, we were always set so Johansen or Brown were covering Commons. He's done well though, obviously showing it in training since he's getting a run in the team, I'd still rather Armstrong though for Europe.
