Hopefully he's back soon. He's usually good for a goal so he'll probably come in for samaras in the coming weeks.
Samaras has hit some form recently but I thought he was a wee bit poor today at times, in the run up to the end of the season we need someone consistent and I think person will be commons.

Simply because clubs want him and we have experience in lustig cha and wilson ,we have to many rb 's and why bring another in lustig a freebie who may be better than the others if not to sell ,and imo the only one we can sell is mathews.

Unless we recieve a crazy offer that we can't turn down, there is no chance Matthews is going anywhere in the near future. He will be our first choice right back for a good few years yet :50:

He's put on quite a bit of weight since last season, which he'll need to knock off.

Desperate to see Commons back in the Hoops, hoping he gets a run out at the weekend against Peterhead.

Thats crap joe, Mathews is by far the best right back we have on our books, although in fairness I havent saw Lustig yet. Why should we sell our best player (R/B position) when we should be looking at offloading Mark Wilson, and Cha. Lenny has already stated that he doesn't need to sell to buy. We are building a team, not dismantling

Like many people he was my favourite player last season. This season it hasn't happened for him but I still think he deserves a run in the team based on his previous form.

Wilson and Cha's contracts expire in the summer. Mathews first choice (for a very long time) and Lustig is good backup.

Matthews will be here for a very long time imo. he seems a very grounded bloke, like a lot of our team.

Cha and M. Wilson's contract are expiring at the end of the season. M. Wilson may be offered a one year deal extension to act as insurance if Lustig doesn't settle.

would like to see Commons start at the weekend. he could have a vital part to play in the run in.

Danny Fox couldn't lace Matthews boots. i fail to see the comparison. from what i recall, he fell out of favour and someone put a bid in for him that was a few £100k more than we paid for his services. Matthews will leave for 50 times what we paid for his compensation.

no player would accept a 'pay as you play' deal. they need one that will have a fixed wage.

you're wrong about Cha. him and M. Wilson's contract definitely run out in the summer.

I would love to see Commons return to full fitness and top form, however if he thinks he can treat Celtic like every other club he's played at; do well for a few months, then lose interest, attitude called into question, form up & down, etc - then he can go and the sooner the better!

Also, I have it on good authority that there wasa bust up between Commons & Lenny and there's only ever going to be one winner there!

But with regards to him getting back into the team...who do we leave out?

Sammy is playing well on the left and Ledley is undroppable, so what happens when Izzy returns to LB?

IMO Commons is not being missed at the moment and if our scouts continue to produce players like they have been doing; Izzy, Kayal, Wanyama, Matthews, etc, etc, then losing Commons wouldn't be a blow to us at all...

Let's be honest, this season when he has played he has been poor... For me, he needs to get the finger out and prove he is worthy of his place at Celtic. Major effort is required on his part!

Does he have it in him to deliver?

    Time will tell...

    Hail Hail

No, really ... what *happened* to this guy? I'm puzzled.

Overweight? Is this as a RESULT of his injuries, or ... ?

He's pretty much useless to the squad at the moment ... such a far cry from the 2nd half of last season.

What a shame, because we definitely could use him ...

... which will happen. Wait and see. He'll likely score some brilliantly enigmatic goal in May to win the Scottish Cup or something ... only goal of the year. Pull a Jean-Joël Perrier-Doumbé sorta dealie.

He wasn't fully fit for the first half of the season, came back and got injured again. There's not much mystery to it. I think he's due back to the fold sometime this month, no?
