Not really unproven, he plays in a league that is vastly superior to ours. So if he does ok there, and on an international level he will be good quality. Settling is the only issue, but with a lot of Koreans in the UK game now, that should not be an issue.

I think the figures are heavily inflated.

When did the J league become vastly superior to ours ???? don't think that's true there is also a difference between playing against light weight Japanese defenders and the hack and slash players we have over here

I would have to agree with you mate. I've lived here in Japan for a while and been to see my local team Gamba Osaka play on a number of occasions. The J League players have better technical abilities and passing in general is better than in the SPL. The games though aren't very fluent and teams usually don't like to have a crack at goal much. You also rarely see anyone put in a tackle.

I would much rather go to an SPL game to watch any of the teams in the league than watch a J league game here. It just doesn't have much in the way of passion the game over here.

The only things I like better here is that the tickets are cheap and the pre match build up is good. Usually folk turn up 2 hours or so before KO outside the stadium and eat good food at the stalls, drink beer and watch the cheer leaders and other entertainment.

Says we are likely to miss out on this one (agreed terms with Cardiff)plus several others as we haven't been able to shift any of our major players yet to free up any transfer funds....what a surprise.
will we actually get anyone this transfer window who is not on a free?

finally after two seasons of having him for free, i think celtic are playing a dangerous game by not signing before these qualifiers as i have always said you have to spend money to reach group stages.

Celtic should get rid of players before buying. I'm fully behind the board on this one.

Spending a few million guarantees nothing.

Cardiff City have now signed two players for approximately six million (Kim and Etien Velikonja, a 3.5 mil Lithuanian striker from Slovenian champions Maribor).

That being said I agree with others who say that despite missing out on a possibly brilliant young player we are not really desperate for midfield reinforcements unless we sell one or two of our current crop.

Our fully-fit, first-choice midfield will be mroe than competative in the Champions League and dominant in the SPL. And with youngsters like McGeough and the Twardzik's coming through is it really worth splasing out millions, when that money could be better spent on a qulity central defender?

    Aye offset by squad culling.

They don't have the cash they claim to have.

We don't need a midfielder so I'm totally nonplussed at this news.

The fact there 11 pages of this is surprising.
