He looked absolutely * after 45 mins we badly need to sign a decent back up

  2. We have done this before against St Mirren to give us more height in the back four . When the game moves closer to the 90, Robinson starts bringing taller players on to play long more, & for corners & freekicks

  3. As I’ve said previously, we desperately need a LB! He was ok today, no more no less. If it was Taylor who’d put that performance in…..this place would be in melt down.

Uttwr pish, he was easily our best player today bar Scales.

  5. Crack on. We love KT but he was just ok. A 7 out of 10, mikes behind Scales and CCV.

  6. He did look like a pensioner not long before he went off although to be fair to him he hasnt had much of a pre-season has he not, did he not make his debut about 2 weeks ago against Newcastle?

I thought he started well but did fade a bit as expected.

Think the partnership with Maeda obv has a lot of potential but he will play far differently to Taylor so intrigued to see how it develops.

  8. I thought he was wasteful, although that’s understandable given his lack of connection with Maeda.

We should’ve tried to keep Valle.

  9. I thought he was good if not spectacular. What the * was him going long every time about though? We don’t play like that and aren’t set up to play like that so even if idah gets a flick on theres nobody near him.

  10. Did he get beaten by his man once? I don’t think he did. Did he put in a few cracking crosses? Yes he did. Did he constantly pass it back when he had the ball? No. It’s these 3 things Taylor was guilty of a lot that made him not good enough.

  11. I can see both sides. If he recorded 2 assists in that first half then its some story BUT he was doing way too many backwards and sideways passing for me yesterday.

So aye, i thought he was alright yesterday, nothing more or less.

  12. Tierney's full attacking game is overlapping getting the ball in early creating chances and getting back to defend exactly the same as maeda, I think once jota is back he will cut inside giving Tierney the full wing and giving a bit more balance and then we will see the Tierney that we are use to,

He was clearly class. If we had a striker that could actually score he'd be 2 assists up already. Hes saving his first goal back for against the huns tho. Get your bets on now.

Should’ve had at least 2 assists if it wasn’t for idah being so wasteful. He got us up the pitch well while getting pressed. Didn’t get beat by his man once. Don’t think he lost possession at all and had some some nice runs and balls into the box. O thought he was class and looked a level above up until the last 10 mins before he came off where he was struggling a bit. We need to manage him back to full fitness. No clue why inamura wasnt on the bench

Rodgers would of known we wont last 90mins, so to not have a left back like Inamura on the bench is insane.

That said I don’t think it will be long till he’s fully match fit, another 3 or 4 games he’ll be flying.

  16. Inamura’s exclusion was one of two things from Rodgers, but certainly not a lack of thinking.

Either (a) he took into consideration St Mirren’s physical approach and thought it was too much for Inamura, therefore would rather have Scales at left back (a tactic he employed against them last season), or (b) he was making the point to the board that we need another left back as he doesn’t deem Inamura ready for this level.

To me, he made a big difference straight away. The quality of his balls into the box was miles ahead of what we’ve seen in previous years.

The problem now is up-front, there's nobody with the timing and ability to get on the end of those crosses. Get a proper striker in there and Tierney’s crosses suddenly start turning into goals.

  18. He was immense. With a striker on the pitch he would have stood out more.

Likely true though Inamura isn’t going to improve to the physical side of the game until we test him against it and he improves. Even if he’s on the bench he doesn’t need to play.

How often did we watch us with Taylor starting and get targeted for long balls & pace every single time. We played him because of his hard work and how he worked as an inverted full back, Inamura already looks like he can do it plus has pace and decent size already.
