Henrik larsson gave his prime years and chose to stay till end of his contract and scored winning goal to put us Into a European final can not put kieran Tierney in the same bracket... When you look at it from what I've just typed then it's easy to understand why anyone would follow larsson after celtic and what he did afterwards

NEIL LENNON has revealed that Kieran Tierney said an emotional farewell to his teammates as he visited Lennoxtown yesterday.

The 22-year-old became the most expensive player from Scottish soil after he sealed a £25million switch to Premier League giants Arsenal this week.

But it was not an easy decision for the Hoops fan and his former gaffer Lenny has revealed that Tierney made sure to pop in and say a proper goodbye to all involved with his boyhood club.

He said: "He was in yesterday

He popped in and everyone was delighted to see him.

"He got a nice farewell from the players and it was emotional for him.

But the players will get on with it now and that's what you do, you roll on.

"He's going to be a big miss obviously but there's an opportunity there for someone else to take on the mantle now

Tierney is expected to make his debut when he returns from injury in the next four or five weeks.

The Scotland defender will earn a staggering £70K-a-week after signing a megabucks deal with the Premier League side.

Tierney's social media following has increased by a staggering 150,000 since making the switch to London.

We told how he has already become a money spinner for London based giants as his shirts are flying off the shelves at the club megastore.

There’s so much hyperbole in both directions. Of course people are going to take issue with him but at the same time it doesn’t have to go as far as it has, no one has any right to suggest he isn’t a Celtic fan.

Me personally I think the worst thing I can say is he’s neither a Celtic legend nor am I majorly upset he’s moved on. The 2 academy graduates left in Forrest and Calmac are the 2 better and more important players for us and I’m glad it’s KT that’s went over either of those.

I cant disagree with that. As good as he was I always felt he still had alot to work on and hope that's not exposed.too much at Arsenal. We just need to worry about replacing him.

Hes a massive tim though and will be fondly remembered, absolutely no question

I've been a bit surprised at how bad the reaction has been towards him going..

I feel a bit worse about it since he's actually gone and seeing video's and him in that kit. Also thought his messages were just blah blah blah. Think the fact I knew he was gone made me no as fussed as most....plus his injury and hip problems where we've had a crock for ages..

He's a fabulous talent that can get a lot better though. The way he can beat a man from a standing start. Has a wand of a left peg at time's. Doesn't stop up and down that left flank. A leader. Strong and in the tackle..

He deffo does need to improve somethings though. Too one footed. His composure under pressure. Tends to hoof it when he feels like he's under a bit of pressure. His crossing actually got worse for me. Was much better whipping them in or drilling them back low in the snakes first season but got worse for me..

Massive potential and will likely smash it down here, if or when fully fit..

Heard a wee rumour today about Tierney. Apparently he was desperate to leave a year ago when Everton were sniffing about. Him and his old man seemingly fell out with Lawwell over it. I usually take anything I get told with a massive pinch of salt, this was from someone close to the first team however so you never know.

If 8 trophies out of 8; 2 UCL qualifications; 2 European campaigns after Xmas; leaving a very capable squad and being in the strongest financial position the club has ever been in is considered “more damage than good” then * help us.

Listen if you want to drool over some wee serial lying * gimp then crack on..

The scumbag was no doubt lying about his exchanges with Tommy Burns just like he did with Danny McGrain..

Was desperate to * off to China with our best player. Then * about with team selections and formations at Tynecastle, Easter Road and the * pit because he couldn't be arsed anymore and then * off at the drop of a hat to Leicester, whilst we were going for 8 in a row and a treble....a club who were willing to wait for him til the summer. Then as Kennedy alluded to he tried to take our whole backroom staff and leave us with fuckall. Has still been trying since..

I don't have a good word to say about the stomach churning little creepy *..

Iv heard this as well feel as if the boy owed us another year with been out for so long but as someone said earlier I would have rather lost him that some of the other Celtic academy players we have in the first team.

Can remember last seasons Scottish cup final when he came on to the pitch after the game broony was trying to get him to go up to the fans and celebrate behind to goal and he seemed reluctant and a bit embarrassed where as before he would be first 1 to be up at the fans weather he was playing or not. Kinda had it in the back of my head since seen that that he was going to leave this summer

If that's true then he deserves zero respect..

The reason I've backed him is because of his injuries and feeling like the time was now..

No excuses if he was trying to * off last summer..

A lot of those things are conjecture and rumours which grew arms and legs because it fitted the Rodgers bashing agenda at the time. Nobody really knows either way. The same way that the rumour posted above about KT wanting out to Everton last season cannot be taken as gospel and should be taken at face value.

Your opinion on Rodgers as a person and his performance as Celtic managers can be separate entities.

I was unhappy in the way in which he left and how he conducted himself at that period. However, that will never detract from the fact that his tenure was one of the most successful ones in the clubs history. He made us untouchable domestically.

As supporters we get carried away with the thought of 9 or 10IAR, but our thinking and the players thinking is not the same, for them it's a job with the potential to earn big money.

We would be naive to think that a player would be loyal to the club for the duration of his career, especially if a big money offer was on the table, the Board themselves would see it as good business, even if it does initially weaken our 1st 11.

I was asked tonight by a neutral whether Tierney would be a big miss. Right now it looks like he will as Bolingoli doesn't look up to much. However what I will say, is that Tierney was far better in the early stages of breaking into the first team. He has always been strong defensively I've felt, but he was also a very good attacking full back. I felt his game changed from an attacking point of view. He used to always try and take his man on and get a cross fired in. His delivery was excellent. He stopped doing that and started cutting back a lot. He was a better player in Rodgers first season than he was when he left.

    That about sums it up.
Some of the comments on here regarding KT loyalty to celtic are really silly.I do wonder what age are some of the people commenting on here are.

A lot of it has been proven. The Danny McGrain no being kitted up and standing his self was laughably confirmed as utter * by the man himself..

He's used people no longer he with us for his gain over and over. Nothing will sway me on him doing that with Tommy Burns..

The man was an utter waffler. Musonda tore Real Madrid to pieces for Betis. Then turns out he never played against them. Laughable and it was just constant..

Kennedy came out saying straight away about the few that didn't jump ship..

We could go on and on and on. I know who I think is the con man..

We did kick out an Everton bid last year so wouldn't surprise me if he wanted off then but who knows..

Call me bitter or whatever but a man who pretended and stood at functions pretending to be one of us in his dream job to then try and * us up in the worst way possible by the timing of his exit and trying to clear our whole backroom team....whilst we were in a title race and on course for a treble..

He's scum and needs wiping from our history. I won't separate the man from the job. It came as the package. He came loved by the masses being fed sweet nothings and then he showed his true colours for the filth he is..

A think it’s pretty apparent from a footballing stand point that we miss him even if boli was up to standards( which a don’t think he is so far) we would probably have to spend all if not more of the 25m to get someone that’s of his standard and like for like in the current transfer market unless we got lucky with scouting.

What a think we won’t miss tho is the fact that if he didn’t go this summer it would be the same speculation this coming January or next summer especially as it now looks like he has been pursuing a move away all along, i think that’s something the team and the fans could do without

i know you aren’t saying it mate but
Think a lot of people too quick to judge Bolingoli seasons 2 games old, guys never played with any defender s, had nothing to do v St Johnstone defensively but overlapped played so good crosses, poor first half v Motherwell but was fine in second half, good assist for Forrest
Big bhoy julien takes it a bit easy with 90+3 corner when we are 5-1, people saying they don’t look up to scratch

Christ Larson s first 2 matches he was worst player on the Park, banged in a goal v St Johnstone, bit of confidence and he’s off and running
