I'm equally perplexed by the people turning on him, the people denying that this is a really sore one and the people assuming it's all about the money.

Surely it's just obvious that he has every right to pursue this if it is his wish and that doesn't mean he's not a real Tim; that it may or may not be about the money* and we might never know if it was; and that this is going to be a really, really sore one to take.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to feel physically sick the first tie I see him in an Arsenal top TBH. Does anyone feel any different?

    * The fact of the matter is that in the current climate, he has a far better chance of developing into the player we all know he can be at Arsenal than at us. That hurts a lot; but it's obviously true. He'll train with better players every day and play against better players every week. There's also the fact that he hasn't developed tactically the way he could have, because there's not a single non-Celtic player in Scotland who can beat him in a one on one. He needs to play players who can more regularly (not just a handful of later European games) to develop that side of his game. You can't always defend on the front foot.

For me, I think more than the money, asking him to risk possibly not developing his full potential is asking a lot more than mere money. Look at McStay. Could he have been world class? I'm convinced he could have, but he'll never be able to prove it.

Finally he (Tierney) will have a much better chance of displacing Robertson for Scotland and have a real chance of picking up European silverware. That's also not trivial.

Tierney has been and gone from the training ground.

    Luiz is still there.

Wont be unveiling them together then...

I’ve actually been thinking this since Arsenal’s interest was confirmed and we rejected the first bid.

Don't be daft, Lawwell will have asked them not to announce it until the 3rd of September so we don't have time to spend the money...

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
This will be contentious, but I think this is a good deal for all involved. I have concerns over career longevity with hip issues....25 million is a lot of money....Kieran gets to challenge himself in undoubtedly a better league.

Goes with my best wishes. Hope he smashes it.

Will only be happy if 15-20 million across fees and wages (plus tierneys now gone) is spent in the coming weeks.

I hope there is an understanding that this deal is only acceptable if the money is used to keep us miles ahead of the minions.

Celtic are entitled to keep the player for at least a few more years.
