Yes and that's exactly my point, they pay for potential down there. Roberts isn't a £12m player just now either, he's probably going to cost more than that if you wanted him in the end up though.

It's why Man United don't care about spunking £8m on * like Bebe or £30m on Anderson. It's silly money.

They pay for young English potential down there.

Bebe was a ridiculous one off because of his back story and Fergie buying into it. Anderson, along with Nani, was the highest rated youngster in Europe at the time and was worth that because if United didn't sign him Madrid or Barca more than likely would have.

Which doesn't detract from the point that they will pay for potential, regardless of current ability.

I'm not saying he's a £10m player btw, just that the English transfer market is mental and isn't all that unrealistic. He's on a 5 year contract as well is he not?

They'll pay over the odds for any player but there's no historical evidence that any Premiership Club will pay 10 million for an 18 year old playing in Scotland with half a Season under his belt. No matter how good he's looked.

And the worst part of it is, if someone even stretches to 7 or 8 for him we'll bite their hand off because that type of bid may never come round again.

KTs a good player who can become a great player. Whereas Celtic take a chance on a £1m/£2m player, Clubs in EPL take chances on £10m players. It's chicken feed to them. We grossed £51m from all sources last season. Bottom Club in EPL, QPR, received £49m from the TV alone.

We are far removed from what goes on in the EPL, Championship and probably in a few years time, even the top Clubs in League 1 - currently Wigan & Blackpool are still receiving year 2 monies of the £80m EPL parachute payment.

If 20 months ago Man Utd could pay a reported £30m for a 19 year old Luke Shaw, then KTs potential is most certainly worth at least £10m.

    OK.

Here's another way of putting it then. How, the *, does The Daily Express or any other Tabloid know how much Liverpool want to bid never mind the fact they are interested outside of a Window?

    2+2 = ...

We said there was no historical evidence that they'd buy a player for 8 figures from Scotland as well and they've done that for Wanyama, Van Dijk and Forster. Same club doing it right enough.

You're probably right, just don't think that type of bid is impossible from the English leagues.

I don't really get the Janko hype to be honest. Thought he never really made any mistakes and kept it simple which was good, but he looked like a guy who had never played football in his life at the Hamilton game. Only one game to be fair but I think he's a guy who seems to get better and better the longer he's out the team.

Aye but he was plying his trade in England.

Same with any example you want to bring up, Luke Shaw, Walcott, Roberts etc. Playing up here it makes a difference.

Just as it does playing in the likes of Holland or Belgium. Even the best young talents there tend to go for alot less than their potential deserves.

It's not impossible that Tierney could go for £10m but right now I can't see it. I think this is just another non story like Kayal to Liverpool for £10m and Izaguirre to Man United.

I don't think you can out a figure on him at the moment. Nobody would pay what we would accept imo.

I would refuse to sell any first team player. Unless we have improved players lined up no thanks. All the board will do is * the cash on a bunch on ciftis and banguras as pals favours to other board members. It's the only reason I can see * like that is signed.

Keep him and give him a new 5 year deal with massive incentives.

10 million,* me,how do they get that figure,he's only had a few games, problem is though,if a team came in for him with half that price he'd be sold which would be unforgivable

Good he bounced back quick by setting up that goal, his first real mistake I can think of and he'd have been gutted if it cost us points but to set up both goals then he'll be happy.
