    * * panic attack seeing this thread bumped, it's all a bit twilight zone anyway. What must Arsenal fans be thinking, their club seriously dragging out negotiations for a player who will not pass a medical till October? Is that right, I mean in medicals a player has to be fully fit?

I know if we were spending big money I'd want the player fit.

So logically it means KT is staying here for at least another season. October is not too bad, Boli is looking more at home every game and Jonny is good back up so we should be fine.

Excuse the wall of text, just hoping to include the relevant points for folk wanting to get an idea although it's difficult cause it's very detailed clinical language. Would be cool if someone who understood it could make translate it

    Posting the conclusion first.

Does anyone know exactly how long KT has been diagnosed and if it was caught early? As far as I can make out it's quite treatable and a large % reach full recovery?

Didn't realise quite how severe an injury it is regarding pain, poor KT man.

    Early treatment sliding scale

This looks like the point we don't want to have reached cause it seems quite long term.

Think this is the extreme case but look at it, * knows what is being said.

Now the doctors just taking the *, a wedgey? :fear:

An interesting and informative post, Swervedancer. Sounds like a condition which is not a real problem if caught early. Here's hoping.

Aye that's what it looks like although it would be good to know exactly how early he was diagnosed.

Mind you, it's so common in football it makes a lot of sense now why Arsenal are still persisting because they'll know exactly what his prognosis is which means it's going to be full recovery. Strange mixed emotions now, don't really want to complain about him getting well.

No wonder the board are knocking back their offers cause they obviously think of him very highly. Still a bit laughable if £25m is the real price and they're fannying about with addons when a couple million is literally peanuts for them. Wouldn't ye just get the deal sorted either way so you can concentrate on your other close season business?

Typical English arrogance , they are more than likely sitting thinking we are desperate to sell and will come in with a 3rd bid not much improved from the second and not close to the £25m mark close to There window closing thinking we will accept

I've always thought if we were going to sell him to them we won't do it until the very last day as that way we can say £5million extra for * us about or the deal is off or whatever and either they need to give us more money or get left to go without him.

Does seem a bit of misplaced arrogance. Maybe it's all a bit Glengarry Glen Ross in the halls of agents and accountants, closing the deal your way is more important than how much is gained or lost.

If they think Lawwell is going to bottle it they've not done their homework. He's going to be relaxed cause everyone knows KT's stock is on the rise.

ILTC, Sean Mac made a good case for why we shouldn't start fannying about ourselves with the price and moving the goalposts at the final moment. We don't want to be seen as a club who can't be trusted when it comes to business. It's a good point.

I advise people to stick bets on Tierney staying. Apparently bookmakers thought the transfer was certain to happen (people were linking reported odds of 1/9 for the transfer to happen), but tomorrow is already Monday. A bid would need to come and be accepted at least on Wednesday, to give time for a more detailed medical.

Arsenal are chasing many targets, and thus the stall over the guaranteed 25M. They will, or have concluded that Tierney's injury makes the expenditure not worth it right now.

Say what you want about Lawwell (I frequently do), but this kind of thing is his strength. It'll probably go all the way to (English) deadline day, because he won't let us be intimidated into selling for less than our price. If Arsenal did their research on him, they'd stop wasting everyone's time and just pay the £25 million they're going to end up paying anyway.

Or * off. That would be even better from my point of view.

Does it make any sense for any team to buy him now? Is he not still out for a couple of months? Hopefully he's here for at least the season
