Obviously but you're naive if you don't think it happens.

Why do you think we cosy up to the likes of Dudu Dahan? A phonecall to him and we can find out what a player is looking for without placing a bid. Once we know they're within wage budget and fancy the move then we can get to work on firing in low bids and incrementally increasing them over a period of time to unsettle the club. It's exactly what Arsenal are doing to us now.

Deals are all done through 3rd parties, agents, representatives etc. so the clubs and their CEOs aren't personally implicated.

    Yep..

I've said loads in here that I believe all parties want this done and probably envisaged it being done week's ago, on our side anyway..

It's why I think they're coming the * with their installments. It's why Lenny is constantly talking about the fee's and the player being really "unsettled"..

I've been convinced it's definitely happening this window and I'm certain it will..

"Apparently"... wouldn't believe what any * down south prints.. Until KT publicly states it its all hearsay.. He signed a long contract for a reason, he isn't going to shaft us now.

It’s naive to think Arsenal and the players representatives haven’t had a provisional chat, he will know exactly what kind of package is on offer.

What bids? According to the club they've made two and we rejected them, still every week the papers print a new story with no quotes from anyone that arsenal are back in and it's definitely getting done this weekend, then nothing, if we believed the rags timeline on this there'd have been at least half a dozen bids.

They are allowed to ask if the player is interested in a move. Arranging the actual contract isn't allowed. What I am saying is that there's no evidence that Tierney is 100% wanting away, and that the previous bids went nowhere but in the trash bin.

I would be very surprised if there haven't been provisional chats between Tierney and Arsenal already - at the behest of Tierney's agent, Arsenal and with Celtic's permission. It would otherwise be farcical and embarrassing for Lawwell and co to drag this on and on until they get 25m only for Tierney to potentially turn around and say "no, I'm not interested' or for a long protracted negotiation to have to begin between Tierney and arsenal.

Which tells us that Tierney either (a) wants the move or (b) is open to the move but isn't proactively requesting or pushing for it.

Due to the length of time this saga has been ongoing, the fact that two official bids have been made, the fact that Tierney hasn't said no to the idea (as its still ongoing) and the financial power that Arsenal have at the end of the day to meet our transfer fee demand and the players financial needs - I would imagine that Tierney will leave this summer.

I’ve been resigned to losing him for a while, just get it done and move on, sick of it now..

If we accept a bid, he will go. Otherwise he would have said something to the contrary by now.

    100%

Arsenal know he wants to go, Lawwell will know he fancies it, the deal will be done but we've got 2 sides of the deal that are tighter than 2 coats of paint and it's a war of attrition until someone blinks.

It's frustrating and unpalatable for some because it's our player but this is exactly what we do in most of our transfers. Our pursuit of McGinn last summer was pretty similar to this: several bids staggered over weeks, threats of pulling out of the deal, players and ex-players talking about the deal.

It's a minging way to do business. That's as much a criticism of our own transfer dealings as it is Arsenal's. I'm all for maximising value but there comes a point where it's just embarrassing.

Arsenal reluctant to put an extra £2M up-front to get this deal done yet have no problem shelling out £72M for Pepe who has had 1 consistent season his entire career. Yet more evidence of the lack of respect English clubs have for Scottish football. It's a pity the club seem so keen to sell, I would happily tell Arsenal to shove it. £25M shouldn't be enough for KT anyway, not in the current market(which is entirely down to English top level clubs BTW). Oli McBurnie is about to go for £20M FFS!!! Oliver. McBurnie. Twenty. Million. Pounds. Think about that the next time someone tells you £25M for Tierney is good business.

The problem is ,we have a player who looks like he wants this move and could be unsettled if it doesnt happen ,we have set 25mill as the figure to speak, more fool us ,the clock is ticking and unfortunately for us there are no others interested ,which would have helped enormously in the fee rising .
I think this will happen and the fact he has been injured since last season and not" out there" helps arsenal atm ,this will come down to nerve and last day of transfer in England, they know and hope teirneys reps push this and we have to back down on 1 of our stipulations ,?could be an add on ,a sell on clause or slight reduction in fee , who has the biggest balls and nerve .

They keep recycling the same story adding nothing new, the only actual quotes have said KT is happy here, and lennon saying we've had two bids, rejected them both, we're business as usual. But the sun/record/mail 'understands' and people here keep lapping it up and doom mongering every time, when we apparently know how full of * the papers are, it's baffling.
