I'm no sure. I reckon they thought 20 would do it..

The fact they're haggling for week's and week's tells me they didn't expect us to be this stubborn..

I'm getting to the point where I wouldn't overly mind if he left and we got this wrapped up. He's gonna be injured for month's in to our first half of the season anyway by the sounds of it and we get a chance to spend and sort the rest of our own business..

Lenny saying it would be the 'worst case scenario' doesn't sound like he's thrilled about the prospect of him leaving.

I think if Arsenal were really surprised and delighted at us putting a price on his head for 25m. Which I doubt we have BTW. That they would have agreed a deal by now. The run the risk of another club coming in if he's their number 1 target.

Especially considering the deals they have already completed

I think as soon as they heard £25m, they expressed a high degree of confidence that they could get the deal over the line. They’re playing the game - trying to bring the price down, unsettle KT etc, but I would be very surprised if they didn’t put in a bid we found acceptable before the end of the window. We have been stubborn, but our selling price is simply too low imo.

I read somewhere (some tabloid so could be *) that they only have a 45 million budget to spend this year, hence the penny pinching.

Personally I,d like K to stay for the Ten. After that if he continues to play the way we know he can and keeps injury free, we could be looking at 40 million for him.

If it does become an EPL deadline saga I would like to think we'd ask for more than £25m cause we're still getting it next year but they'll be the ones in need. Seriously, £25m for an EPL team with a billionaire owner is ridiculous for a penny pinching situation.

If Kroenke did say 'Arsenal fans should be excited about the new bid' then it looks ominous for us.

That’s not the way negotiations work though. They’ll have someone there tasked with getting the most for players leaving and paying the least for players joining.

If we had said £20m from the outset I wouldn’t have expected them to immediately bid £20m, despite the fact that rumours suggest they’re more than willing to pay that now.

If KT goes life goes on, after all he's not the first top class player we have lost eh ?

The Club have never said his price is £25 million. All the Club have ever said is that Arsenal have not offered the Club's valuation. The press keep stating £25 million, not the Club.

Don't mind us selling our best players what I do mind is then replacing them with mediocre ones. The press conferences were an embarrassment. Top teams would just say the player is not for sale. End off. Instead Lennon waffles on about receiving bids and a 25 million fee wanted. If the board just keep our best players together we might actually win something in Europe.

Don't understand the KT thing at all. Manager is still talking about him being in pain etc. Doesn't look like he will be back soon, so don't get why Arsenal are chasing him now. January yes but now? They aren't supposed to have much money just now so why go for an injured player. Still hope he stays

No chance, we've been miles off that for over a decade now. We haven't won a knockout round tie post-Christmas in any season since 03/04.

Could be. On the other hand, Lennon did comment about a young lad, a left back I think, who had been valued at £40 million or thereabouts only days before and the lad had played only a handful of first team games. He went on to stress that, in his opinion, KT was better and more experienced. Makes me think...
