One thing that bugs me is that apparently Celtic stated Callum McGregor is 'not for sale' when Brendan Rodgers supposedly stated interest, but when Arsenal come in for KT, we're willing to do business but for right price.

If he's a key player and don't want to sell, then don't? Obviously nobody knows the in's and out's but KT must have said something to Neil Lennon regarding his future and they're both being coy...

    fingers crossed he stays.

If rodgers came in for KT the board would also just say not for sale. They know the absolute backlash they would get and also bet they are * off themselves about he left so simply wont do business with him.

I had always assumed it was £25 Mil just to get to the negotiating table not if ye can hit £25 he's yours.
I also wonder about the statement of Callum McGregor is NOT for sale yet no such statement about KT. (Must be somethng in that)
In all honestly I'm just sick of listening (seeing it) every day in the so called papers and ITK's, he's %100 going then he's %100 staying.
Wish it would just get resolved and we can all get on with it one way or another.

We haven't mentioned 25m, it's paper talk, all we've said is they made a bid and it doesn't meet our valuation so go away. As far as McGregor goes, as far as I'm aware there hasn't been any bids to comment on at all.

ARSENAL and Celtic are only a “couple of million pounds apart” regarding a deal for Kieran Tierney as the Scottish star’s move edges closer.

The Hoops want in the region of £25million for their star left-back, 22, with Tierney thought to be interested in a move to the Gunners.

Now, Sky Sports claim the deal is almost complete with Arsenal simply needing to bump their offer up a tad.

Tierney is said to be “happy” at Celtic, but is intrigued at the prospect of moving to the Premier League.

The news comes less than a day after Hoops fans were given a major boost in their hopes of keeping hold of their defensive star.

Talks appeared to have stalled as Arsenal – who are close to landing Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos on loan – failed to match the club’s £25m valuation, originally bidding just £15m.

And Celtic boss Neil Lennon said his side were in a “very strong position” in terms of clinging on to their prized asset.

And Celtic boss Neil Lennon said his side were in a “very strong position” in terms of clinging on to their prized asset.

There have been no further inroads into that really.

“Our valuation of Kieran wasn’t met and it’s as simple as that. You will see other transfers not going through because valuations haven’t been met.

“It’s not a case of Arsenal being disrespectful. They put a bid in that they valued the player at.

“They came back again and obviously see Kieran as a very good player, as we do.

Reports earlier in the week suggested Arsenal wanted to pay for Tierney in instalments and bonuses, rather than an up-front fee.

Amid the deadlock, the Gunners are beginning to consider alternatives for a new left-back.

Arsenal have only signed one player this summer, Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli, but they are on the verge of announcing William Saliba’s £27m switch from St Etienne.

The line from the media hasn't changed in weeks. Deal imminent, etc.

Don't take the media seriously, mate. They don't know any more than we do usually. For a while there, I was the same as you, but the truth is no one really knows if he will go or not.

If he's going to go, he's going to go; in the meantime just enjoy the start of the season. If he goes, the club will announce it. If he doesn't... happy days. Don't let it spoil your summer.

So in that report.......KT to going to Arsenal is almost complete but they need to "up their bid a tad"

"Only a couple of million away"

"Gunners are beginning to consider alternatives for a new left back"

All in one poorly written report. I smell *!!!!!!

i still cant imagine why he would walk out on the chance of sealing the ten. two years and then he goes. still a young guy and entering his prime years. havin lenny in for europe is massive. we will take a few scalps. Why would any celtic supporter want to be ANYWHERE other than parkhead for 9iar and then the ten. two * iconic seasons. we will have everything coming at us this season from all angles. us tims need to knuckle down and stick together through thick and thin and see this bad bhoy through. Then all players are free to go to the "tougher" leagues.

that being aid the idea that we are even talking about it is wrong. we should entertain no bids until kt literally bangs down the door adamant that he wants to go before 10iar. the club comes first and hes under contract. 25m is * cheap for kieran. it goes without saying that i would expect every single penny of it to be coming our way regardless of how many assists and goals he gets. and for * sake if they even mention champions league just laugh at them:56:

What if he got injured and couldn't play again at the level he wanted? I'm sure he'd rather get injured at 70k a week....

ARSENAL have reopened talks with Celtic over a £25million deal for Kieran Tierney.

SunSport revealed this week that the Gunners were still very keen to sign the 22-year-old Scotland left back despite two failed bids.

And now Emirates chiefs — who haven’t yet made a third offer — are determined to finally land Tierney before the English transfer window shuts on August 8.

The Gunners have already met Celtic’s asking price — but refused to pay the money up front.

Celtic are not interested in payment clauses that might never be realised. The Scotland star is under contract until 2023 and that leaves them in a strong position.

But Arsenal believe the clubs aren’t actually that far apart and can still reach agreement.

Ex-Gunners ace Scott Marshall is hoping Tierney will join the Gunners — if only to end his unwanted record.

The former defender is the last Scot to represent the Gunners in the Premier League for 22 years and is hoping to see that come to an end.

He told SunSport: “I didn’t think when I played for Arsenal in 1997 that we’d be talking about this length of time without a Scot in the team. It’s pretty unbelievable.

“He’d be a great player for Arsenal — exactly the kind of character they need.”

Had my bhoy at the stadium tour the day. Asked the tour guide how KT is coping, his reply was along the lines of hopefully hes here for the ten, he has to go eventually to realise potential and hopefully he settles if it's not this window. Paraphrasing that, but got the impression KT may think the time is now.

    Hoping I read it wrong.

It's easy for people to say just wait two years and then move but he's already had a couple of long term injuries, if he was to stay and pick up another one then he might end up no use to anyone, wouldn't be the first player who comes back from an injury and is nowhere near the player they were before it.
