One of very few positives from Deila's reign.

He has a bright future and I hope it's at Celtic for as long as possible.

  6. Southampton should * off are we just a feeder club to them :54: and I bet the board will sell if they come in with more than a 4 million figure.

He won't go to Southampton yet. He's too young and won't get a game. He will know this. He'll be with us a good few years.

  8. Tierney's a proper fan by all accounts, seems to be a bhoy whose head won't turn easily.

No chance of him playing regularly in the English Premiership. Don't believe it.

  10. Def believe they would be interested in him & anything under £10mill is small change to most EPL clubs so their risk would be minimal. What I don't believe is that Tierney would be interested in moving. He's just broken into the team at a club he loves & being the level headed guy he is I'm sure he will be thinking that his future lies here for the next 4/5 years at least.

  11. Mad to think 3 years from now he'll still only be 21, seems already a well rounded player and as consistent as anyone. Made me think what other players had done at us when they were young, this is these players records before their 22nd birthdays...

Thomson 173 games 55 clean sheets
Marshall 50 games 17 clean sheets

    McGrain 26 games 0 goals
    Matthews 88 games 4 goals
    McNeill 131 games 1 goal
    Connelly 75 games 9 goals
    Aitken 239 games 24 goals
    Denayer 44 games 6 goals
    Evans 108 games 7 goals

    Murdoch 190 games 62 goals
    McStay 227 games 35 goals
    Hay 28 games 0 goals
    Wanyama 91 games 13 goals
    Petrov 66 games 9 goals
    MacLeod 95 games 14 goals
    Burns 99 games 9 goals
    Auld 71 games 20 goals
    Johnstone 153 games 30 goals
    Lennox 63 games 23 goals
    Gallacher 44 games 12 goals
    McGeady 153 games 23 goals
    Maloney 71 games 23 goals
    Macari 45 games 24 goals

    Dalglish 110 games 62 goals

Don't get me wrong, I really rate him. Just think he needs a few more years to progress a bit before he can make the step up to that level. Could see the difference going forward against Denmark compared to teams at domestic level.

The fact he's a big tim is obviously a big plus. He knows hiw fortunate he is to be playing for us and will be in no rush to leave. Just hope he's not pressured in to anything by folk in higher positions, should money be on the table.

  13. Definitely & I'm sure Tierney himself would be the first to acknowledge that but I don't think that would put Southampton off. Every player they've taken from us has worked out brilliantly for them & they might see getting a young quality full back for peanuts (£7mill for example is nothing to them) to play back-up to their first choice LB for a few years as a no brainer.

Basically I'm saying I think there might be some truth in the story & as you say I hope that he isn't pressured into leaving by the coats upstairs with £££ signs in their eyes.

  14. Acquitted himself very well against Denmark. Fantastic tackle on the No 20 for Denmark to prevent a scoring opportunity.

I suppose it's "lucky" that Wallace wants to concentrate on his domestic career, rather than International football. :97::97:

  15. Tierney's route to the Southampton 1st team would see him competing with these for a left back role...

    - 26 year old England international Ryan Bertrand
    - 20 year old England under 21 international Matthew Targett

I can't see Tierney playing much 1st team football if he leaves for Southampton in the summer.

Left back is an area Southampton have good options already, plus have more good LB's currently coming through in the academy.

Bridge, Bale, Shaw, Targett... producing left backs is what the Southampton academy excels at!

The Southampton link is lazy as *.

I don't doubt for a second they and others will have had scouting reports on an 18 year old who has came in and performed in the League, Europe and now Internationally but he's a kid with a shitload of potential at this point and nothing more.

  17. He wont leave us anyway. should be getting the testimonial sorted as we speak.

He seems in a similar mindset as Ryan gauld to me, very level headed and sensible.
I dont imagine him jumping at the first chance to move south, nor for a few years.
I reckon he will sign two new contracts with us before he entertains leaving. One this year/next to see him to his 22nd, then another in a few years when he is 20/21 to see him here till 25. Somewhere around the age of 23 he should evaluate what he wants from his career.
Potential will be fullfilled and he will know of he has the ability to be a celtic captain by then (if not already), or if he hasnt reached the heights and can still go on to make a great career elsewhere.
Or be that phenomenal that he gets a masive move to a big big club.
