That's a sign of determined intent. They knew what they wanted, and most likely considered the price fairly low, and knew better than to waste time bringing it down. Arsenal are acting very differently here. Tierney is not so important to them apparently- they aren't willing to pay a rather low fee for him. This is so...Lawwell actually, from them.

Also a 10% sell on fee for moussa.

Arsenal are offering £18m with £7m add-one and no sell on!

It's a battle of tight-arsed CEO-s. Just hoping Lyon don't come in now and take Kieran.:88:

To Napoli, maybe. Italians are known to be less stingy. By the 9th of August, Kieran should be fit to play?

Either Pay it you smelly * or * off and leave him alone.

This needs put to bed this week,so we can move on with our own buying players knowing what we need.

I pray someone like Napoli come rushing in last minute and offer the 25 million and he goes to them, bypassing that shitshow down south.

Not last minute. We need time to replace Kieran. Although the concept of Kieran going to Napoli would be interesting, just to see English reactions.

Unfortunately looks like this saga Is going to drag on, although I think Tierney is likely to leave during the window it must be a difficult time for the Lad, with a lot of decisions to be made and I hope for his sake he is being advised correctly. As he is at an age where he could easily stay a few years and leave at the aged of 24 having created history or leave and return in 5/6 years to end his career.

Personally I would love to see him stay until 10 at least leaving as a great Celtic, similar to Kenny before his move to Liverpool if his desire is to move to England then make the move to a club that seem more progressive and get the best out of KT, because unfortunately I don’t think Arsenal is that club and I think they aren’t showing Celtic or the player the respect that they deserve. This situation mirrors our transfer dealings with McGinn last year where inevitably he went else where to a club that showed how much they valued his talents. He could easily go on to a club competing for trophies in the EPL as I would consider him in the best 2/3 in the UK.
Or take the armband and stay his career like a modern day McStay but ultimately whatever he chooses he should do so with the blessing of the support

Why are people just assuming that 25m is our price no one from the club or close to the club has came out and said such have they?

Was only a few weeks ago arsenal bid 40m for zaha and where basically laughed at throughout the media down there about being at least out by 30-40 million in there valuation how do we not know Celtic are thinking the same.

Kt is a 35-40million pound player by today’s standards and wouldn’t b surprised if Celtic value him at this as well. As much as the board have there shortfalls, they have become a lot more street smart in regards to how our top players are valued in recent seasons.

Personally don’t think kt will go this window but he won’t spend the rest of his playing days here after 10. arsenal are not the team for him just now they on the slide big time and can c they moving out the top 6 next season. Kt and his people ain’t daft and will b able to see this.

Agree, I think if Arsenal came in offering £25million up front tomorrow it would be turned down as well. £25million is the absolute minimum we should be getting with clauses and bonuses on top...

In total I think we got £21million for Van Dijk and that was 4 year ago, prices have inflated a lot since then and our rates should be going up we should be looking for £40million for Tierney after transfer fee, clauses and bonuses.

The English window shuts in 3 weeks as well, we'd be stupid to accept a bid before deadline day since it doesn't matter to us. Let the * sweat until the last minute and add £5million on for the hassle :ynwacelti

I don't understand why folk as saying he's definitely dying to leave this window. Where has he been quoted saying that?

He knows it's up to the board whether they want to open negotiations so he's probably just keeping quiet as far as I'm aware.

His injury must be a problem for any potential move.

We all know he's going to leave at some time but as Cambo says we thought it was going to be after the 10 sooner if disaster happens in the league.

Hope he's avoiding all the media bullshit that goes with this, he knows how the fans feel about him either way so he won't be worried about us.

Then he's not going to Arsenal- can't pass a medical by the time their window ends.

If we got close to the 40m mark it would take the sting out of him leaving but 25m isn’t doing that for me and can’t c why any1 else would b happy with that if and when he leaves. A really don’t want that lad to go but not daft/selfish enough to believe a boy of his talents shouldn’t go on and flourish at a top team/league at some point. Arsenal are not a top team anymore and won’t b for a long while they fact they can’t secure there top targets speaks volumes of where they are at at the moment

Still think the elephant in the room is £40m appears to be too much for us, we've had plenty money recently and we can't afford the wages of players we could spend it on.

I could be wrong but I'd like to know the solution.

Not saying it wouldn't be good to get it, just prefer to keep the quality who's going to be more effective than the money.

100% imo you could get £40m for Ntcham and Tierney. But it will go into the “cash reserve account along with the other £40m” never to be used again on the team!

A think 40m is a realistic target for the board, get what ur saying about it no letting us b able to move for sort of player a 15-20m player would b looking for on wages but a couldn’t see us going for that type of player anyway even if we got 100m for kt

10m players is our level at the moment and will continue to b for the foreseeable and that’s us spending that money at the “business end” of the parks like st and cb.

But getting 35-40m must be the realistic target for a player like kt for the board a lad who is not only a top player but also a big fan favourite.

I'm not sure about that one haha wasn't it Torino who tried to pull a fast one and change their offer for Simunovic at the last minute
