He’s a smart boy who just wants to play football.

    Money isn’t everything to him.

This makes me feel oddly better about the situation and gives me hope on the prospect that he won’t leave.

Aye, it will be a footballing decision but with the added financial incentive.

Developing under a coach like Emery or Ancelotti may be a big factor. One of the reasons the appointment of Lenny was uninspiring..

Not quite as simple as that.

How long do either of these managers have nowadays if they start the season badly ? I know Arsenal stuck with Wenger when they weren't winning leagues, however that was an anomaly.( And based on his previous successes) They have now broken the seal. Either of those managers could be sacked by the end of September.

Granted, but Lennon strengthens my belief that Tierney would see Champions League football with Celtic this year. He is a pragmatic manager, and has successfully pushed for defensive signings. Coming at Napoli or Arsenal runs the risk of Tierney rotting on the bench.

People forget Lenny had a pretty * good track record at developing players himself, especially defensive players. OK, so Brendan Rodgers was obviously an insanely good coach; but I genuinely think there are certain things Lenny can add to the game of our defenders- both technically and tactically- that Rodgers was never interested in doing.

Not saying Lenny is as good a coach as Emery and KT will learn just as much here, before I get jumped on by some on here; I'm just saying KT probably won't be stagnating and learning nothing if he stays another couple of years.

I think he was a very good coach, but also a very defensively naive and one dimensional coach.

His tactics were ultimately undone against superior teams and when playing away from home, especially in Europe and he failed to alter his approach to account for this. Part of me felt that he genuinely believed that he was guardiola like in his total football approach.

I admired his domestic consistency and how he conducted himself in the media.

But no way would i describe him as insanely good.

They could mate.. But that's football, it wouldn't stop a player moving unless it was a complete basket case of a club, which Arsenal have proved they aren't.

But, the fact and it is a fact.. Lenny just isn't in the same bracket as those two. And thats not a dig at Lenny.

If you were weighing up a potential switch the calibre of the coach would be high on the agenda for players looking to move primarily for footballing terms.

KT, unless he continues to struggle with injury wouldn't be on the bench.

I'm not saying it would stop a player moving mate. However if we are looking at the minutiae of the transfer then it something that has been mentioned yet. I am not saying KT won't go, however I really don't think whether KT goes or not can be viewed in the same way as the vast majority of transfers.

I'm reading nothing in to that..

You could flip it from a positive and just as easy say his agent is already laying it on the board for if/when it happens..

As a coach he was. As a manager, he was a mixed bag as you say.
