So you think this is similar to the McGeady transfer? We are in a totally different financial position to where we were then.

The club will accept £25m, if that figure quoted in the media is accurate.

His agent and probably his old man will tell him to make move, what agent or parent wouldn't? I'm not saying its an easy decision for him, it must be a nightmare. (in relative terms :56:)

The PLC, Lawell and his agent will all 100% a
want the deal. So there comes the pressure. But, it still remains his decision, there's no getting away from that.

You’re painting it in black and white, my point is (like the McGeady transfer) it won’t be.

The deal may make sense for everyone involved.

How so? £25m to the club is a major investment. That would be the winnings that 10 in a row gives us.

Lets not act like it isn’t major money. Will we survive without it? Of course but it’s still a * of a lot.

I think everyone knows with the figures quoted, as long as we don’t allow ourselves to get shortchanged, it’s just one of those things.

The problem will be if it’s used to cover incomings this summer and not actually re-invested.

Everyone involved in the transfer on our side will know stuff about his injury that we don't and have much better idea what the last 7 months have been like for KT.
Its being discounted how that heavily that could weigh in on the decision for both the player and the club.

This is very true... KT might be thinking * I better take the money while I still have a hip

It is major money for us, no doubt.

But, with the Dembele money still not spent nor the compensation from Rodgers and his team even touched, not to mention the £30m in the bank.. It's not as if Lenny needs to sit him down and plead that he makes the move in order for him to build a side. This may or may not have happened with McGeady, this was my point to @PaulM1888, its a different scenario, completely.

And don't misunderstand me, I'm not criticising anyone involved. It's a move that would benefit all parties, £25m is a realistic valuation and if its met, he will be advised to take it.

And if he does for me he would go with our love and best wishes.

Younger players recover better from injuries. Also- do we know that it's specifically his hip that's the issue? AFAIK, the surgery he had was a hernia. Thirdly- we have a player now that allows us to not overwork Tierney.

Do you realise how many young players are lost to the game before & after they sign professional papers through injury.

If it came to it, which I don’t think it will. He still has the right to refuse.

And it he could potentially fail the medical if his hip issue is a long term concern in the same fashion as turnbull. For 25m they would leave no stone unturned. No idea what to believe about the hip though.

£25 million is way below his value as a footballer and to our club.

    £40 million absolute minimum.

I don’t believe that, the board surely know there’d be a massive backlash if they forced him out.

KIERAN TIERNEY’S agent has opened up on the transfer speculation surrounding the Celtic star.

The Hoops hero is wanted by Arsenal and Napoli, with a Gunners bid already booted out by the Scottish champions.

Ex-Hearts and St Johnstone star Allan Preston – part of the team at the Stellar Group, Tierney’s representatives – discussed the issue on BBC Sportsound this afternoon.

He said: “It is all down to Celtic – if they get a price that they believe is the correct value for Kieran Tierney he could possibly be on his way.

No one has hit that price yet.

“I know Kieran really well, I had some food with him the other day.

“He is such an unassuming young man. He is wealthy at the moment but he doesn’t possess a watch because he isn’t into material things like this.

“He still hangs about with his pals from when he was a youngster, he sponsors his local pub team where his pals play and he’s not into his designer gear or anything like that.

As the guys say, he loves Celtic. He absolutely loves Celtic.

“Will there be a time for Kieran Tierney to go? I think that there will be.

“If it’s just now it will be up to the clubs that are involved – Arsenal, Napoli or whoever – to then put the money on the table and make Celtic think about this.

“If there is a time for Kieran to go it will be up to Celtic, Peter Lawwell and the board.

They have signed a left-back but they do need one because [Emilio] Izaguirre is away.

“The ball is firmly in Celtic’s court at the moment.”

Reading that, his head isn't turned by big bucks elsewhere.

    But we already knew that.

We need to be giving teams a cut off date, we can't afford to lose him on deadline day.
