The absolute ideal situation is he stays for 10 in a row, then goes. There’s nothing more he’d have to do here. He may see the treble treble as the pinnacle for himself. Who knows. Bottom line is he needs to go and prove himself elsewhere eventually.

I find it strange why the club haven't just come out and said he isn't for sale like they have done with calmac. This for me is a tell tale sign the club are willing to sell KT for the right price. (Sadly)
However what I do find annoying is they are better selling asap so a large wedge of the fee can be reinvested into the starting 11 rather than on deadline day.

Kt is for the off this window im afraid.

Looks like the arsenal manager is really putting the screws to his board to get this done.

My MAIN worry is his replacement. We will now need 4 full backs... 3 was a big enough ask ffs. If we had of got it cover for kt when we needed it we wouldnt be in this position, instead we resigned izzy ffs... then, tragically, offered him a new deal, and with talk of that * donut jenkinson being bandied about im truly * bricks here.

He will only be 24 if he leaves after we win the 10, missing out on 40-50 grand a week extra wages for 2 years would be hard to say yes to, but surely he knows the right option to take. Lets not kid ourselves on here, Tierney still has quite a bit of development to do and it wouldn't hurt him to stay for a couple more years- his crossing is usually a hit or a miss, not to mention his inability to use his other foot and his recovery speed against the quicker players in Europe are all weaknesses that can surely be improved on here. Also debatable if Arsenal is the right club to go to considering all the toxicity at the club and centre backs that can barely defend, would be better at Everton imo.

The best outcome of course would be for him to get a wage rise to ease the money he will miss out for the 2 years and give himself one last crack at going far in a European cup. If he leaves before the 10 then we wish him all the best, however his reputation of being 100% Celtic will be tarnished to a certain extent. Stays for 10, helps us get into the quarter finals of the europa league (or champions league :giggle1:) and becomes a Celtic legend at 24 years old, then decides he wants to test himself against the best and makes our club over 30m in the process- would be the proper way to leave.

His current reputation would be undiminished, for me, if he left this summer: a talented Celtic player (like van Dijk), who was part of a great team.

I hope that he stays and becomes a Celtic great, or a Celtic legend, in his own right, but I will wish him all the best if he chooses to leave.

Sadly, there are few players left in the game like Totti, who said of his recent departure from his beloved Roma that death would have been preferable; perhaps, Tierney is one of them though.

Totti also said he regrets not moving from Roma when he was younger.

    Your number are wrong mate

    Dembele £19.8m
    Armstrong £7m
    Van dijk £7.5m
    Rodgers £9m
    Congerton £1m

In that financial year we spent

    £2m Bayo
    £1.8m shved
    £7m Jullien
    £350k Connell

So off the Dembele, Rodgers and Congerton Money (A’s the Van Dijk and Armstrong was the last financial year and £9m of that was spent on Eddie) £11.15m spent (don’t know the loan fees for all the loan players) but reckon we are still over £18m in profit on player trading and compo

No, he said that his only regret was that he never played for Real Madrid. He also said that while he was tempted by Real Madrid, he has never regretted staying at Roma. (Both positions are compatible.)

I don’t want to see Tierney leave Celtic but do you think the club might thinking of cashing in due to his injury record over the last few years? And could see it as a barrier long term

Actually this is roughly where I'm at with it!!

However, the BIG would have to be min 35m plus I would want the majority reinvested in the squad. That fee would send a message don't * with us anymore to an extent. 25 or less and that sends out the wrong message and has crap implications going forward!!

    Still a regret.

If KT has any ambition of playing for a club like Real Madrid or similar, which being a professional footballer he absolutely should, then he needs to move if he’s wanting to fulfil his potential.

He might move to Arsenal and fail, I doubt it, but he has to take that chance if he’s wanting to try and be the best possible footballer he can be.

It doesn’t make him any less of a Tim no matter how much people spout that pish and it doesn’t make him a money grabber either.

The only player I think that’s irreplaceable in this squad is McGregor.

The bhoys a star, if he stays then great he could be a club legend but if he wants to move on to try and see how far he can go up the ladder in the game then all the best to him. I'd never grudge him his big move if that's what he wants.

The guy hauled himself off a hospital bed with a freshly cracked jaw and sore face to get back to Hampden to join in. Disgusting to question his commitment.

We all have regrets; sometimes those regrets lead us down better paths.

His ambition, like Totti's, may be to earn the adoration of his own people, and immortality at the club that he loves, and that ambition would be no less laudable.

I believe that he should do whatever makes him happiest.

    I agree.

    * sake hahaha, AFTV trying to run with a story that they've agreed a deal and he'll be there within a week assuming a supposed late interest from Napoli doesn't scupper the deal.

I mean, come on now arsenal's interest may have been genuine but I doubt they've improved their insulting offer to be anything close to what we would sell him for.

I'd expect as well off the back of successes of Robertson and VVD we'd be demanding a hefty sell on fee for KT to make sure we get real money for his talent

Our valuations are close enough if Arsenal have been encouraged to pursue their interest.

He’s already earned the adoration though, no matter what a few idiots say like trying to compare him to Rodgers.

Academy boy who came through and developed into becoming one of the best prospects in European football while playing for the most dominant side in domestic European football history.

The idea some people have that he should stay for another two years to try go for 10 in a row and then go with their best wishes doesn’t really wash either. If we fail to win it the players, manager and board will be getting chased out of Celtic.
