  1. Swings in roundabout s with they 2,In the 70s and 80s Liverpool were the bigger club probably the biggest in Europe at the time
In they days not sure about bigger but Nottingham Forest were better than Manchester United late 70s early 80s, Ferguson came in Manchester United by far the better bigger club from 1994-2013

Last few years since Ferguson left and at present would say though still not having won the epl, Liverpool back as the better team

  2. Who cares whether they're 3rd, 4th, or 5th. They're a huge club who offer much more than we can both financially and competitively. The only thing thatd keep any of our players here when a team like that come calling is a deep rooted love for this club, and even that might not be enough

  3. Anyone who has anything negative thing to say about KT possibly leaving can gtf. If he moves on I wish him all the best and hope can progress to the outstanding player we believe he is capable of becoming. He is a huge fan of Celtic, probably more so than many on this forum, and for anyone doubting that makes me question you.r mental state. And what's even better is he has ambition, to play against the best and become the best. We often slate players for choosing mediocrity over winning trophies, arsenal definitely aren't mediocre. The easy life would be to stay at Celtic, but without any chance of progression. If he stayed until 10IAR he would probably be classed as too old for any team in the epl to take a punt.

The Top 6 in England may fluctuate, but the teams remain the same..

Arsenal may have made some poor moves in the transfer market recently and bafflingly let Ramsey run down his contract. But let’s be realistic they have always been a well run club.

It would be a good move for him 100%..

Nobody wants to see him go and it makes the debate all that more taut..

It’s a difficult one for him and his family and would love him to stay, but there’s need be a bit of realism here..

If he were my Son, I’d advise him to do what’s best for his career..

Where would you develop more as a player? With Emery in the EPL or with Lenny and the Scottish Premiership?

I hope his heart rules his head.

  5. We're also relegated and went 25 years without a title till Fergie arrived. They are where they are in terms of stature due to unbelievable marketing...and Beckham.

Got absolutely no qualms if Tierney wants to leave and try his luck in the epl, hope he does well and I know Celtic have to stand their ground for the best deals but just these situations could be resolved a bit quicker either way cause last season all the dembele Boyota uncertainty stuff affected our start to last season both domestically and in Europe, effectively cost us champions league cause Athens weren’t a great side and we more than capable of beating them

  6. Arsenal should be a good move for him if he is indeed going to move. This isn’t a Norwich or even a Southampton, it’s a well run club with sights on playing at the highest level. He would go straight in as first choice left back and I’m not sure the same could be said at one of the EPL top-dogs like City etc.

It’s all irrelevant though. I would prefer to see him stay and £25m (or less) is a steal for Arsenal.

  7. Call me naive but the team is leaving Austria today and a lot of players have been sent back would have been crazy to have him fly from Austria to Switzerland then to Glasgow.

Instead get him back to Lennoxtown or let him have a few days off!

  8. It was regarded as the biggest job in English football at the time when Ferguson took the job in the mid 80's, I have watched news reports etc from when he took the job . This notion that they only became the biggest club in England after Fergie took over is nonsense. They were the biggest in England already but he took them to a whole other level and made them the biggest in the world.

  9. Probably because of their potential. Huge club who hadn't been successful for a long time. At that time there's no question that Liverpool were the bigger club. Most of us on here grew up during Fergie's domination so find it hard to see Utd as not being in amongst title winner's.

  11. Tierney has nothing to prove to Celtic or its fans.

He is a player who should go on to be considered one of, if not the best LB in world football I don't like it but if he has such ambitions which he should, he will be acknowledged as one when he is no longer wearing our colours.

And he deserves better then that basket case of club Arsenal. If any club in London where to work for him it'd be Spurs, assuming they kick on from last season, keep key players and actually spend money to improve the squad he could be a revelation there.

    TBF everyone on here is.

  13. Absolute nonsense .
After Ferguson gets the United job , football focus :
"Well Manchester United is the most famous name in English football, and when a manager is sacked at Old Trafford , there's no bigger news " .
" Ron Atkinson leaves after 5 and a half years in the most sought after seat in football "
" If you're the manager at Manchester United you are under more pressure than someone in the managers position anywhere else "

Nothing much mate, he's flown back to continue his rehab at Lennoxtown instead of going to Switzerland.. Understandably speculation is high.

  17. The whole discussion about how big a club Arsenal are... and how good KTs prospects would be there seems like such a pointless argument...

That’s how Arsenal are perceived right now but it’s not that long ago that they were the dominant side in England - 5 league titles between 1989 and 2004.

They want to get back there and bringing in a player like KT is part of their strategy to get there. If they were already right at the top they’d probably not need him.

One or two quality players CAN make all the difference. I know it’s a different era and position but when Maradona joined Napoli in 1984 they’d just narrowly avoided relegation. That didn’t put him off - he went as the most expensive transfer ever at the time and no doubt on a massive wage. In his first season the club finished in the top half and within another 2 seasons he had helped get them their first Serie A title ever and a Coppa Italia. Another Ligue title and a first and only UEFA cup came while he was there also. His presence also helped attract other quality players that contributed to that period of success.
(When Higuain went there the club had hopes for the same effect)

Arsenal are nowhere near danger in the EPL. One player can make all the difference . KT just might be the man !

( not that I want him gone btw!)
