Was waiting on this happening but thankfully the majority are clever enough to see what a player he is rather than frantically looking for faults.

That is just incorrect. Nothing to do with opinion here - you are simply wrong.

Do not get me wrong, you cannot question his endeavour and I think he is very capable defensively and should be our 1st choice left back, however, he is not good on the ball. Whenever he gets it he just balloons it up the pitch.

Just because he is young and he is a Celtic player doesn't mean he is the best thing since sliced bread. Honestly - get real.

What JPR said their was spot on. He's far from the finished article on the ball but his actual close control and crossing have been very good.

 

* * it, how is he getting questioned by folk on here? He is already a good full back and will most probably become a top player. He has taken a first team spot from our best left back in probably over 10 years who also by the way is a former SPL player of the year. This season he could not be any more impressive for an 18 year old full back. He has been terrific.

 

Least technically gifted in the team?

He can definitely brush up some aspects of his game, and with his age, he will tenfold. Fucksake I'm out..

 

Defensively he is outstanding regardless of his age - has that natural knack of timing a tackle and can anticipate where the ball is going to be .

 

He's probably the best I've seen in a Celtic jersey at timing a slide tackle. He's absolutely phenomenal at it..

He can definitely improve the attacking part of his game, linking and overlaps. Defensively he is very solid, great tackling and decent pace. Has a good cross on him and good touch.

He does run with his head over the ball, I think at this stage he is focusing on making a clean contact and not making mistakes, sometimes this means he might miss a pass that's on on the inside but these things come with age. He is certainly not the least technical in the squad, Gordon has that one hands down!

 

Made the left back first team position his own at the age of just 18, that in itself speaks volumes about him and how good he's been.

 

Not one player has been safe this season. People turning on an 18 year old is ridiculous, but then again our best goal-scorer since Larsson is now being criticised even when his goals have literally just won us the game. :smiley-laughing002:
