CELTIC youngster Kieran Tierney has won over the hearts and minds of the Hoops support because of his positive attitude and dynamic performances this season, and his approach to the game has also won the support of Scott Brown.
The Hoops skipper has been impressed by the 18-year-old’s never-say-die attitude and desire to commit to the tackle, and he told the Celtic View that the young left-back has a bright future at the Scottish champions.
“I love the wee man,” said Brown. “He’s as hard as nails. He’d tackle his granny and he’d go into any situation and thrive just because of his attitude. He’s a born winner, a born leader and he’s a great young lad to come through at Celtic.
“I’ve seen him at Under-20s level coming through and seen what he can do there and he just seems to get better and better through games. He plays through injury, through thick and thin, and he’d struggled recently with a shoulder injury where most people would probably throw in the towel but the wee man just strapped it up and got on with it. I love his attitude.
“I see a lot of myself in him, especially when I was coming through as I was the exact same as him – he wears a t-shirt in all weather, and tackles anything that moves. The only thing that’s different is the wee man’s got a great left foot, although I seem to score most of my goals with my left so maybe I’m left-footed too. I’ve just been playing with my right all this time!
“His attitude is spot-on. He just has to keep playing games and keep learning. He loves a challenge and every one he faces he comes through with a gold star. Hopefully we’ll see a lot more from him.”

I worry about his lack of physical size. If he can overcome that obstacle then he could turn into a very good player.

Drivel. He's as hard as nails with no shortage of quality in his left foot. If, having watched all of his performances thus far, you are concerned about his physicality then I suggest you find another sport. This sort of stone-age mentality about size and physicality is half the problem with Scottish football.

Amido Balde was a big * who was also very strong and look how that turned out for us! Size doesn't matter in football. Tierney has a fantastic attitude so he will do well. We let Andy Robertson go because of his size and look at how well he has done since he has been given a chance.

Looking really promising for his age, still lacking the maturity and experience and it shows sometimes but not as much as you would expect at this stage in his career!

lol - that's drivel. Can't question his attitude or commitment or how good a tackler he is, but he is without a doubt the least technically gifted in the team. No one can say any different. He is young so hopefully will improve and he needs to improve. Too often he doesn't look up and just hoofs it up the park when there is often a pass on. In the County game at Hampden, the Schalk goal I think, he hoofed it up the park when a simple pass to Bitton could have kept us the ball. They retrieved the ball from Tierney's clearance and went up the park and scored.

Not really, there's a difference between composure and technical ability. He puts a great ball into the box, certainly better than the previous incumbent of the left back position. His decision-making will improve with age and experience.

He's lacking maturity, could be because he's only 18 :icon_mrgreen:

Technique wise i would say he's pretty * good in most departments, always room for improvment as he continues to develop as a player.

This is "without a doubt " one of the stupidest things i have read here in a while. He has excellent close control and an absolute peach of a left peg that can put crosses on a sixpence. His technical ability can not be questioned. His decision making needs to improve and he does need to stop hoofing it up the park but that does not take away from his ability.
