Surgery has to be major worse case scenario, hopefully he can work through it.

Hate to say it but when someone pointed out it may be a similar thing to Andy Murray - the 2 of them walk the same, as if they're struggling with their hips.

Aye, said it upteen times we’re guilty overplaying him and we’d burn him out.. it’s the energy he puts into each performance too. We need top class cover for him it would get the best out of him and he’d be fresh for the big games..

Not quite true, if you look at what people are saying on here before a game a lot of the time ‘give Tierney a rest’ is used.

We are guilty of overplaying him. Last season no player in the world had more minutes on the pitch than him.

People have been saying we've needed cover and someone to give Tierney a rest for ages.

Aye, but when the teamsheets out apart from a couple of posts nobody blinks an eye. I’ve certainly not seen a lot of posts, not saying there hasn’t been any.

We’ve had Izzy, Miller and Hayes available at any one time and I don’t see anyone asking for them to start a game.

Izzy should be good enough cover domestically but he hit a bad bit of form.

I’m not denying he’s been overplayed, I’m just saying it’s taken this extreme for more people to now come out and complain about the game time.

You’ve not been paying attention then mate, it’s one of the most common things that comes up before games. When he plays he generally plays well so it’s not like people complain but everybody is aware of it and have said so on loads of occassions.

Before Izzy came in when Tierney was injured you had loads of people putting him in their line ups.

    Fair enough then!

It’s just annoying that there’s talk of surgery, suddenly every * saying he should’ve been rested more. Guarantee there’s people that would play him every game and now are complaining. But obviously not as many as I though.

I have to say I am really worried about Tierney now with his hip injury they can be very tricky recovery wise. If he needs surgery we could be in real trouble there. I think Izzy is a good solid backup for games domestically but he has had some injury issues this season as well which really has left us scrambling at left back at times the past month or so.

A big problem is that no left back will want to come in to be 2nd fiddle. They know they can't knock Tierney off top spot even if they have a good game or series of them. The only way you could really have a decent back up is if you bring in a winger who can drop back if need be.

The best we can do is basically the likes of Gutman. Hopefully he's decent.
