I canny recall anything about his performance against Barcelona tbh but at the time I didnt think he done anything special at all other than just play right back and not get ripped apart, canny mind him carrying the ball up the park or putting in a tackle or anything of note.

Matthews V Barcelona however, Matthews was superb against them, blocking and shutting down constantly etc he was only 1 year older than Caddis was in his game and came up against Messi, Pedro and Sanchez and was absolute solid, that was a great performance.

The one you said about Caddis V Man City too, I think you may have been thinking of Scott Cuthbert, he played great in a friendly against Man City.

Matthews did have a great performance against Barca.

Caddis against them, his positioning and covering was excellent, his tackling was good and he didn't let anyone get to him at all. He was very solid and they were gunning for him. It all proved too much for Gary Caldwell though unfortunately.

He was a 19yo lad making his second start for Celtic and he was put right up against the player who was widely regarded as the best in the world at the time. He didn't snuff Ronaldinho out completely but he never got embarrassed either. He held his own and did as well as Andreas Hinkel would probably have done had he played.

I thought that was impressive. * knows what you were expecting.

I wasnt expecting anything but I wouldnt say he done anything out of the ordinary either. If you take his age out of the equation or inexperience it was an average game that he didnt have much to do in and didnt do anything.

Tierney though has actually played well, even if Tierney was a 30 year old signing from Bulgaria, his performances have been very good and he has earned the left-back spot even if he only plays how he has up till now for the next 10 years he will be a very good player, his performances at left back have been like the standard of Scott Brown in midfield, dominating the opposition and being heavily involved in games.

I really don't think he will. He's already said he loves working with Ronny and appreciates the chance he's been given.

THE pace of life can tend to slow down as the calendar approaches the end of the year but there is no sign of a let-up for Celtic’s rising star, Kieran Tierney.
The teenage defender has grown accustomed to having few games to play in December and January at youth level but that seems set to change this Christmas.
Tierney has made a strong impression on the Celtic first-team over the first-half of the season and his impressive performances for Ronny Deila’s side in recent months have delighted not only his manager, but also the Hoops support.
That run of form could now mean that the 18-year-old will be busier than ever as the year approaches its conclusion, but Tierney said he wouldn’t have it any other way, though he and the rest of the Celtic first-team had an unexpected weekend of inaction after Saturday's home game against Hamilton Accies was called off.
“Any starts or game-time I get is brilliant for me and I just need to make the most of it,” he told the official Celtic website. “The games will be coming thick and fast so I’ll need to be ready.
“Playing for the Celtic first-team doesn’t happen to many people, especially supporters, so I need to make the most of every minute.”
Things have moved quickly for Tierney in recent weeks and the full-back admitted he’s still getting to grips with the massive changes that have taken place since he started for the champions on Flag Day against Ross County.
The Hoops youngster has made eight appearances for the first-team so far this season, bringing his overall total to 10 after he made his debut as a second-half substitute against Dundee in April and then started his first match in an away game against St Johnstone in the penultimate fixture of the 2014/15 season.
From then, whether playing in the UEFA Europa League in a massive clash under the floodlights of Paradise or in the SPFL Premiership in wintery conditions in Inverness, Tierney has put in the same high level of performance which has helped him keep his place in the side
The full-back acknowledges that he still has lots to learn, however, and is simply focused on making the most of his moment in the limelight.
“I’m delighted with the progress I’ve made and the faith the manager has put in me by putting me in the team,” he explained. “I just need to try to repay that with performances.
“It’s still hard to believe, playing for Celtic and starting matches in the first-team. I just need to take it all in and make the most of it.
“Everything that’s happened recently is hard to take in. I just see myself as still being a Celtic fan. It’s brilliant. I need to appreciate every moment I have with the first-team and make the most of it.
“I’ve worked so hard to play for Celtic and have supported them all my life, so it’s a dream to play for them. I don’t want to get too ahead of myself. I need to keep my feet on the ground. I’m still young, it’s still early doors and I need to keep working hard and get more appearances under my belt.
“My family are the same as me and a few of them can’t believe it either. I don’t get treated any differently at home and I still do my duties at Lennoxtown, so that’s good for keeping my feet on the ground.
“The manager and John Collins have also just been saying the same things since the start of the season and that is to just keep working hard and I’ll get my chance, and when I do get my chance I need to take it, so nothing has changed on that front.”

Love how he points out he's a actual fan in his interviews. Yeah we've had plenty say that and might of been, but he's genuine. Rare that tbh. Like one of us on here playing for Celtic.
