Was in the pub today chatting to some Liverpool fans and the mere mention of his name made them instantly say 'he's boss him kid isn't he?' which is unusual as the scouse perception of SPFL down here is that everybody playing it bar Dembele is *.

Where about in Glasgow is KT from?

 

How do you manage to listen to them without sticking the heid on them?

 

As my other half of my heart is firmly Everton I'm always ready to indulge myself on how crap they are.

However both sides of the city mix/are mates where as in Glasgow that is quite different. My best mate is a red, my Dad is a red. Although I couldn't do the same with Rangers supporters because I find most of them objectionable.

Liverpool need a new LB and if KT keeps playing like he has it will be interesting to see how committed to the Celtic cause and staying around he really is.

 

He was born on Isle of Man, we signed him from a Wishaw (20 odd km outside Glasgow, close to Motherwell) based team at 7, so I'd imagine he's from around there.

 

We really will do well to hang on to this kid, best young Scottish fullback I can ever remember seeing.

The rub of it is he is only gonna get better.

 

I don't think he'll be tempted away from Celtic for a few years yet. He's repeatedly said he's one of the fans and remembers being in the crowd, along with stating he's living his boyhood dream. He's settled, on the rise and loving life. Can't think of why he'd leave just now.

 

If someone comes in with silly money, which is a real possibility, he may not have much choice.

 

I suppose that's always true.

 

He's the best full-back we've had since Danny McGrain.

Would be good to find that out, as you say I feel like he has been MOTM about 20/30 times and he's only played 52 or 53 games or something

Can never remember such a consistent performer probably since Larsson, who every week is one of or the best player on the park.

In all competitions too, not like he's struggled in Europe or he plays better in certain easy home games or anything just anyone we play he plays well. For Scotland too last week he looked the only good player in the team who knew what he was doing.

Van Dijk actually, forgetting him but he was the last player who just looked class all the time.

 

Probably, but how many great Celtic fullbacks can you think of in the last 30 years?

The kid is a beast at getting forward and the power he puts in a tackle for such a skinny wee guy is frightening.

Only gonna get better too.

 

Tierney has progressed at an astounding rate and the McGrain comment will be fair if he keeps this up for another couple of seasons, but so far he's had one breakthrough season and a great start this year. Long may it continue, but that's why I said it's a bit early for that.

 

Just keeps getting better,hard as nails in the tackle as always,going forward though,this season he has been a revelation,really hope he can stay injury free as I think he can be a special player for us,possibly world class in the future if he keeps this rate of progress up.
