    Once again, just class.

Had the toughest shift of any of our players tonight as Sterling was being a nippy wee *. Held his own and contributed massively.

He is the benchmark for the other lads in the academy.

He's too good, better start toning down his performances or he'll be dragged away to Barca or Bayern lol

Some outlet as well, we passed the ball to him 42 times tonight. Recieved the same number of passes as Sinclair, Forrest, Rogic and Griffiths combined.

Had Sterling running back towards his own goal early on. Indeed it will be rare that Sterling will do so much work in that aspect over the rest of the season.

When someone like Sterling has pace to burn, it's very difficult to defend against. But he gave as good as he got. He was isolated on the ball a lot though and had to play long frequently, which wasn't what he wanted to do and was a result of the options in front of him.

Amazing what the wee ball boy in the 2-1 over Barcelona has become. Deserves every plaudit coming his way.

Tierney struggled last night but all part of the learning curve. He's got a great future ahead.

Up against sterling, anyone would struggle. But felt he was one of the best players on the park (Tierney), going forward he was superb. Tracked back and defended well. Debates about getting caught out for a goal, but that's nitpicking for a player at his stage on this level.

Terrific performance for one so young and I can see him go from strength to strength. We will be lucky to hold on to him, Sinclair and Dembele!

KIERAN Tierney marked his 50th appearance for Celtic with a goal in a 3-3 thriller against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League, and don’t anyone dare suggest that he wasn’t the goalscorer.
The 19-year-old produced what has now become a characteristically impressive performance against a City side that had won all of their 10 previous competitive matches this season under Pep Guardiola.
And Tierney's goal after 20 minutes put Celtic 2-1 ahead on the night in what turned out to be another special European night at Paradise.
“I’m claiming the goal – 100 per cent,” Tierney told Celtic TV after the game. “I celebrated like it was mine as well, so I’m taking it.
“It was a great through ball from Tom Rogic and it just sat nice for me. I aimed for the front post and it’s gone in. It was a great result for us. We took the lead three times in the game and we got off to a great start.
“Making my 50th appearance is an achievement for me and obviously I’m delighted. As a 19-year-old it’s brilliant.”
Celtic Park reverberated to the sound of the home support chanting Tierney’s name after his goal, and it was an audible acknowledgement of the support acclaiming one of their own. Tierney was keen to repay the compliment.
“The fans are the twelfth man,” he said. “Right from the start they were right behind us and Manchester City maybe aren’t used to fans like that, so it was brilliant.
“The atmosphere was incredible, and it always is on Champions League nights. Every fan is behind you and I’d like to thank them.”
Now Brendan Rodgers’ side will be looking forward to their next European challenge – a home game against Borussia Monchengladbach on October 19. And they will approach that match full of confidence, aiming for all three points.
“The preparation was great from all the staff and all the boys,” Tierney said of the City game, “and we’ll work hard to do it all again.
“Anything can happen and we showed that at Celtic Park. Manchester City are a great, great team. You see the amount of money they’ve spent on their team and how they’re doing in the Premier League just now – so it’s amazing, a great result for us.
“We’re delighted for the point but we took the lead three times so in a way you’re thinking we could have won it, but it’s still a great result.”

If McGeady is the best player to come out the academy in modern times, I reckon KT will top it and hopefully stay and captain us for years yet.

    Absolute warrior of a bhoy.

Reminds me of a left sided Gary Neville, not the greatest technique wise but my * he has some engine, a great cross, pace and tough in the tackle. He is going to the top no doubting that. One of the few pluses to emerge from Deila's reign.

In terms of Tierney bet its unlikely, bookies will generally settle on what the was officially given which is sterling og, there is a small chavs of a gesture of good will but don't expect anything.
