In an earlier post of mine I was asking if it was too early to lump KT with the 'New Danny McGrain' handle and it seems like he has a GREAT CHANCE of being that level of player....he has very similar qualities and I'm really enjoying watching this young man make a real name for himself in a Celtic team.....well *' done. Hail Hail KT !!!

Especially one that gets tore into as much slide tackles as Tierney, hes probably done about 150 quality slide tackles in those 49 games.

BRENDAN Rodgers has hailed Kieran Tierney’s aptitude for learning and improving after the Celtic youngster produced yet another outstanding performance in yesterday’s (Saturday) demolition of Kilmarnock in Paradise.
The talented teenager was awarded the stadium’s Man of the Match after a peerless performance in defence and attack on the left-hand side of the pitch.
Going forward, he created countless chances for the Hoops in the 6-1 success and assisted Moussa Dembele for the champions’ second goal of the game.
Defensively, he didn’t allow Nathan Tyson any opportunity to showcase his terrific pace, with the Kilmarnock winger eventually substituted early in the second-half.
The Celtic manager said: “Kieran’s an incredible talent. He can defend very well and he’s very aggressive. We were asking him to improve his movement without the ball. The modern-day top-level full-back can make runs with and without the ball.
"He is a great learner. He takes on board information very well. He defends forward and by that I mean he’s aggressive in his defending.
“The boy Tyson on the right-hand side was someone who played for me as a young player in my Reading youth teams so I know how super-quick he is, but you didn’t see that on Saturday as he was chasing Kieran all the way back. I thought Kieran was absolutely brilliant tand he’s developing very well.”
Striker Dembele also came in for praise from the Hoops boss after his quick-fire brace in the first-half saw him move on to 10 goals in 10 games for the Bhoys.
He said: “Two good goals again and if you look at his record, he scores virtually all his goals in the box which is great. You get lots of modern-day strikers who spend a lot of their time outside of the box but he wants to get in the box and score goals.
"His first one was a good finish with his right foot and then his second one was on his left foot after a cross into the box and was also a great finish.
“He still has a way to go to fulfil his capabilities. He has improved no end in his pressing and his tactical ideas of the game. If he can add that to the quality, ability and confidence he has, then he can keep progressing really well.”

He was immense yesterday, tearing them apart at will.

I love how is lifting his head now as he charges into the box and picks out late arriving midfielders with those excellent cutbacks.

An intelligent full back who consistently picks people out from a crossing posistion with a drilled pass , accurate cross or cutback. You see far too many fullbacks getting into those positions and simply firing the ball across the 6 yard box or lumping in high crosses that are food and drink for goalkeepers.

Tierney will be in it that much they should call it the Team of the Week without Tierney and let some other * get a chance <img src="http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/images/smilies/players1/smiley-laughing002.gif" class="inlineimg" smilieid="259" border="0">

I think hes been MOTM in the last 3 games in a row for us and since he's came into the team in total he must have been MOTM close to 20 times maybe even more than 20 and hes not even played 50 games yet <img src="http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/images/smilies/56.gif" class="inlineimg" smilieid="79" border="0">

You make a great point there with his getting his head up when he gets to the byline. The amount of times he is accurate and picking out players with cutbacks on the ground rather then just putting in hopeful crosses has been a real feature in his rapid development.
