A players always judged on where they play and what they win, even if KT wins the treble every season everyone will say Robertsons better after winning the champions league and almost the epl, we know better

 

I dont think its necessarily true either but hed have a better chance of reaching that level away from us

 

I wouldn't say we are getting the value we should for our players. The money we got for the likes of Van Dijk and Wanyama was nowhere near in line with how good they were. Likewise with Dembele, £20m was a steal for Lyon. He isn't any better now than he was when he left us, but he will go for upwards of £50m because he plays in a better league than ours. We are still getting shafted when it comes to transfer fees in my opinion.

 

Don't think he'd become World Class away from us but he'd have the better chance to show he is put it that way.

 

I wouldn't say so. He isn't £30m+ better than what we received for him, that's for sure. Cause that's what Lyon will fetch for him no doubt.

I think that’s always going to be the case because of our position in the ‘transfer ladder’..

Are Groningen being ‘done’ as well? as Virgil clearly had high end attributes for Celtic to come calling..

Each stage in the upwards path of a player will add value if he is successful.

Remember VVD had to go to Liverpool via Southampton to get to where he is so if even players with his potential can’t go direct to the top then we are never going to get full value moving from Celtic.

Unfortunately (whether true or not) Celtic are seen as inferior to even the bottom of the EPL (even championship) and players will have a ceiling value based on the football being played there.... Europe helps but not enough sadly.

Unless we were actually playing in the EPL it’s going to remain that way.

 

EPL has loads more money, so clubs have more to spend and more clubs compete for players, sheer economics....pushes player prices up.. thats why * in the EPL are multi millionaires and "retail" for c£30 mill.....

 

Well the fact that Kieron has to move across to accommodate Robertson suggests to me Kieron is the more all round player .

 

Anybody who thinks KT is a better player than Robertson needs to take the green tinted specs off. I love KT but Robertson is superior.

That being said, Robertson is 3 years older, plenty of time for KT to develop into a better player, however to get to that next level I hate to say it he would need to make the move down south or abroad.

That's my point. We don't get the correct value for our players due to the league we play in. Dembele was better than a £20m striker but that's all we got.

 

I wouldn't take any other lb in world football ahead of Tierney
