So you're saying that it was all Ki's fault? MADNESS! Even when the whole team wasn't performing Ki was easily the Celtic's best player in Nov/Dec.

Kemo, what others are saying is that even when the team dropeed points and underperforming, Ki was easily the best player.

Don't talk about dropping pts and stuff. Talk about Ki's performance.

I think he's just beginning to show that consistency. He was excellent in the home game against Motherwell, absolutely excellent. Then he followed that up with the cup final performance and it looks like he's started this season in the same vein. I think he's got the potential to be exceptional.

You can not single out one man for that matter. And while everyone's talking about progress and future, you are talking about 8 months ago. For 8 months, Kis been progressing and people are delighted.

    Now stop with your nonsense!

youre continually overlooking the fact that Ledley in that period of time was playing worse than Ki, yes Ledley worked well with Kayal and they played well, but Ki has had very little oppertunity to play with Kayal and they played great yesterday, i think you need to stop going back to the fact we dropped points with Ki playing, it was more to do with dodgy defending, and if anything it was because Kayal wasnt there, hes the main man in the middle, Ledley and Ki are fighting for the place beside him, Ledley took his chance, granted, but, Ki filled in great at the end of the season and if he continues his current form Ledley has a problem.

so stop going back to november/december, Ledley was worse than Ki then, Ki was certainly the more consistant player in that period, Ledley steadied wjen Kayal came in, but who says Ki wont find consistancy with Kayal?

when ever Ki has had a solid run of games, he's been consistant, its hard for any player to be consistant when there appearances arent consistant, but when Ki has started 3,4,5........ games in a row, hes been very good.

Im not singling him out, but if your saying that he was the main reason for our great performance yesterday, then it has to balanced out. If he was in the side and we lost, does he not then have to take responsibility too? Thats the point Im making. Lets not get carried away yet, there is a long way to go in the season.

I am happy to go with Neils assessment last season. He clearly felt that when Ledley and Kayal got together they were a more consistent and better option than having Ki in there. Or you gonna say Neil was wrong there?

Neil feels that he is good enough to get in the centre of the park just now and thats great, Im delighted.

And we can only look to the future by studying our past and learning from our mistakes.

You must have skipped a couple of posts mate. The balancing out is that Ki has played one good game against a ropey Hibs side, the gushing on here is a little over the top.

Once he has put a string of consistent performances together that match yesterdays then we can say he has come on. Last season he was in the centre of the park when we lost 9 points in 5 games. What was your opinion of him and the team then?

If he keeps this up then great, fantastic etc. But lets not get carried away on the first game of the season eh!!

same old same old, what does this guy need to do to be taken seriously, every single good comment seems to be followed by a BUT, all going back to something that happened over 6 months ago and even then Ki was our best player for the three months up until christmas.

No consistency you say, id call 3 months being our best player consistency wouldn't you, and he was out after that because of the Asian cup, obviously lenny isn't going to say to ledley out sorry just because Ki got back from the Asian cup, he would have had to fight for his place and for a month at the end of the season including the cup final he was again one of our best performers, he has shown when he has played in 4/5 games in a row he has consistency, how can you call someone inconsistent when they don't have a consistent run of games.

I realise sometimes i can over lavish Ki with praise but sometimes people here really do find ways to find some kind of fault with his play.

You have said yourself that he played 3 months of the season before Xmas? was that not a run of games? A spell where we lost 9 pts in a 5 match spell. Which was crucial at the end of the season. Not blaming Ki at all. But he was in the side then, and getting a good run.

I appreciate maybe I am a little critical of him, but am genuinely delighted at the performance he gave yesterday, and in the games towards the end of the season. Hopefully he will be consistent and give us that every week.

The point im trying to make is, is that possibly your slightly overcritical has been created seeing him being played in one game where he hasn't played in previous games before that, for example coming in for brown because he is suspended just for that game and then back on the bench. That happened after the asian cup where he made fleeting appearances and people seemed to form their judgement on those few performances where he had hardly any run of games.

In the 3 months before january when we did lose 9 points Ki was most likely the player least responsible for that, im not going to put * defending down as Ki being inconsistent during that period.

Once he regained the run of games at the end of the season you saw consistency because of playing consistently.

Not something we are going to agree on here. I was at most of those games last year, and when things are down, you look to your creative players to make things happen, so from that aspect Ki was as culpable as any other player in the team. Defenders and strikers alike. And these were games he was playing in consistently, just like at the end of the season. It may be that he played better alongside Kayal, who for me, is the driving force in the team. But when Kayal isnt in the side we then need players like Ki and the others to step up to the mark.

Hopefully yesterday will be the start of this.

And I did acknowledge he had a good spell at the end of the season as well.

I realise we don't agree but ill keep trying to convince you otherwise :icon_mrgreen:

I too hope he keeps progressing like he has done recently, otherwise my lavish praise could come back to stick a grenade in my *.

Another empty shirt display from Ki when he came on as sub, was responsible for the goal when he failed to track back and at least tackle the Killie player.

Hope this imposter is not playing on Sunday or we are going to be in trouble again.

I thought he played well when he came on, as soon as he came on we took control of the game and had 15 minutes or so of domination. Would definetly start him against the huns.

Best player yesterday, controlled the game when he came on and made an outstanding slide tackle.

Played ok yesterday nothing special but I'd say kelvin Wilson was most at fault for the goal.

I'm not Ki's biggest fan I must admit. He does have his good points but I think he's a player who too often flatters to deceive.
