Absolutely class today. Very composed and what a goal.

Should be given more time next year in big away games and in Europe.

    Brown----------Ki---------------Kayal------------Ledley

    --------------------Commons

    -------------Hooper/Samaras/New Striker

Also I wouldn't mind seeing him in the middle with Kayal if Brown is out injured.

Id LOVE it if we played a diamond with that formation our midfield would dominate!

Ledley and Kayal may be a better partnership than Ki and Kayal or Ki and Ledley, but please stop generalizing. The majority of fans..? really?

Also, when it mattered most, kayal and brown or ledley and kayal partnership failed miserably. Take ICT game for example.

Partnership wise, I agree with you that Ledley-Kayal is better than Ki partnering eith of them. However, that doesn't mean Ki is inferior.

Ki-Brown partnership wroked really great recently. Kept cleansheet throughout. Then lets Compare it with ICT game, which was Kayal-Brown partnership. They failed, but that doesnt not mean kayal is better or worse than Ki. Same goes for Ki.

Yeah, I think it was the Ledley/Ki midfield that let us down in those 3 home games. We missed Brown and Kayal back then. Ki is a far better midfielder than Ledley imo. As for the short passing, it works and is good enough for Barcelona.

    completely wrong/irrelevant.

ki being better than ledley? well id say ki slightly edges it in terms of technical ability but ledley runs rings round him when it comes to the physical side of the game. ledley is quicker on the ball, we have seen ki being caught in possession far too often.

short passing? it works for barca, but they play with far superior players and in a completely different league. short passing doesnt always work on the pitches that look like farms in the spl.

there is no doubt that ki is a decent young player who could go onto very good things, but im not sure he is suited to the scottish game.

to be fair, neither have i, it has happened more often than wed all like though. maybe his recent run in the first team he given him a bit more match fitness (like mental quickness etc) and cut that out a bit.

I'd like to see a triumvirate of Ledley/KI/Kayal in Europe. Think that trio would complement each other perfectly with Kayal's tenacious industry, Ledley's ball retention, positional awareness and runs beyond the midfield and KI's composure, ball retention and ability to pick a killer pass or strike from range if required. Throw brown into the mix out wide if you want extra pressing and tenacity.

I'd have a front 3 of commons samaras and broony, with the wide men doing a power of defensive work in a 451 when we are starved of possession.

I think thats the point, hard to judge him when he has been in and out of the team. Whenever he gets a wee run in a settled partnership, he looks good.

yeah, id like to see him and kayal playing a few matches together. i wish ki would get forward a bit more, get him making a few late runs into the box and with his height/technical ability he could score a few.

I agree, I almost think he does his best stuff in behind the strikers.

In the SPL, it's unlikely that any player will be able to pass through a team from deep for us given the massed ranks we come up against.

Give him a free reign with Kayal and Ledley providing him with a platform to pull the strings and I think we'll have some player on our hands.

I would like that as well but by the looks of it, Lennon has him under instruction to drop deep, take the ball from the defenders and make something happen from there. I agree, when he's eventually paired with Kayal, he'll have a lot more freedom to show what he's capable of, as Kayal can sit deep.

Spot on there mate. A few other boys have talked about him not being sharp enough, quick enough on the ball and off the ball at times. I think this is simply down to his game time and with the players around him (in a competetive fixture).
Still can't see Lenny dropping, Kayal, Ledley or Broony to accomodate Ki (for now) but as back up he is good to have. He has come onto a better game in the past 6 months after appearing to have little confidence or motivation. I'm glad to say this as Ki has not been my biggest fan this season. Hail Hail :shamrock:

its not that bit that concernes me, as youve said it comes with game time and he has improved recently since he has had a wee run in the team and come preseason when everyone gets a run in the team he could continue his good form. i just dont see him being able to handle the physical side of the game as well as ledley does with his years in english football.

I'm 100% that you're wrong with that statement. He never loses the ball. Very similar to Busquets at our level of course. I'm not saying we should move Ledley on as like Mulgrew, he can come in a play a number of positions. He is of lesser use to us than the other 3 cms however.
