Big differnece there is that Celtic have the bulk of possesion in Scotland. Swansea and South Korea, only marginally do this, even though they play good football. When the counter attack eventually happens he has no idea how to track runs or squeeze space. He's good when the games infront of him or behind him but it's on the break that teams play against us and he didn't have the knowledge on how to defend that.

He's playing as a deep lying playmaker, which is subtley different from the duties of a defensive midfielder.

Yeah "defensive" was the wrong word to use but certainly more defensivemly minded than attacking, as in his duties are to protect possession rather than actively look to create goals.

Also I would hazard a guess that Swansea actually have most possession in most of their chances, I think Celtic are a much more counter-attacking team than them.
Certainly if we played Swansea now we would have to play on the break

Sir Alex Ferguson has a fairly average track record in terms of signings...

I think you overestimate them and far underestimate us. They play a possesion game but the aren't Barcelona. We play a possesion game and are better at it, we had more possesion away from home against Spartak Moscow and more poessesion at home against Benfica. Both are better teams than Swansea.

They don't have the major bulk of the ball (60% etc) unless they are playing the lower reaches of the Premiership.

Believe me i'm generously optimistic when it comes to Celtic but the fact is Swansea are doing very well in a league about 3 million times better than Celtic's.

I'm sure they beat us in a friendly 2 years back and they would probably beat us now.

    Anyway; Ki - good player.

The fact is you overate that league very, very much. Ki is one of tere best players just now. He struggled to be 5th choice midfielder here.

So based on the performances of ONE player, you discredit one and hype up another league?

Ridiculous. The EPL is so much better than the SPL it's not even worth considering, which is why most people don't give it any thought any more - it's just accepted.

Ki didn't play badly at Celtic, and was only 5th choice (he wasn't actually) because Celtic fans on the whole prefer a Kenny Miller type * who will chase everything down for 90 mins but ultimately is lacking in talent and/or brains.

Just like how people already this season have lauded Tony Watt and sought to castigate Miku and make him a bit of a scapegoat (luckily he seems to have knocked that on the head with his goal).

The fact that you think Ki's initial success down there is evidence of the EPL not being a better league than the SPL is laughable. Especially because he wasn't our 5th best midfielder, Lennon had him in the team many times and when fit he played most games. He certainly played and contributed far more than fans' favourite Paddy McCourt.

The SPL is a * league, Celtic are a good team. The EPL is a good league, Swansea are a good team, and Ki is a good player. I don't see how you could argue with any of these facts.

Nobody said that the EPL is not better than the SPL. You seem to think Celtic have a team full of Kenny Millers? Who was castigated at his time like Celtic....

The rest of your post is such a crock of * that I'm not even going to start on it. Swansea's a good team, however they aint Champions League class.

He's looked very good in the glimpses I've seen of him. Hopefully his form continues, if SPL players go down south and are successful it makes our league look good

Yea to an extent.... but the English just say things like, "he was too good for your * league anyway, he was probably just waiting to leave".

Celtic to Swansea is a step down and a massive one, despite what league they play in. Make no mistake about it.

In his case, though, going from not getting a game to playing week in and week out was a no brainer. If he feels he has progressed good for him, the historical facts are very (VERY) few players leave Celtic and improve their stature in world football. Only the top drawer players such as Henrik manage it. The rest waiver about in obscurity and I have no doubts Ki will be the same.

Good to hear he is doing well and is well liked. I still think we got a fantastic deal for him. He would have been behind Kayal, Broony, Wanyama and Ledley in the starting order. 6m was a great deal although it maybe looks * now to some people considering he is doing so well

    Good luck to him

Seriously tho. Give it a rest will ya? He's doing well at Swansea showing great performance week in week out against one of the top teams in Europe. He's really doing it well consistently. Ki was your player, and the lad played his part in Celtic. Wish him a luck. Be a gentleman.

How many assists and goals did Joe Allen chalk up last year? As for passing the ball sideways and backwards, that constitutes the bulk of Joe Allen's game.

Your intense dislike of Ki, even after he has departed Celtic, remains baffling.

Hammer can you read this? Since you brought this bizzare "historical fact" out of your *, i'm interested in how u respond to those stats.

    1. Ki has the highest PS% rate for Swansea.

    2. Ki has the highest average passes per game for Swansea.

    3. Ki has the highest accurate long balls per game for Swansea.

    4. Ki has the highest accurate through balls per game for Swansea.

    5. Ki has the highest shots per game for Swansea.

    6. Ki has 1.4 key passes per game which is 4th best for Swansea, and the pass master Xavi has 1.5 key passes per game.

Surprise Surprise, * same faces still trying to justify their poor opinions of Ki. * move on and accept the lad is a good player.

All this 5th choice mid for Celtic bullshit. When he was around and fit, he was not 5th choice. People just spout some amount of * on here at times and others copy it.

The lad is doing well in a mediorce team in a far superior league to ours. Funny that, he done well in Europe (outside of Sion) for us too. Just the SPL was not to his style.

However, he proven in a very short space of time he is a very accomplished player for Swansea, who like it or not (and yes it pains me to say it) are probably on par with us in terms of quality.

Yes, we are probably the biggest club he will ever play for in terms of support and history, but he will go on to play for far superior football clubs to ours in far better leagues.

Stop being bitter and move on.
