No doubt he hasn't played as well but my mates a Wolves fan and I've watched a lot of them this season. Doyle has been one of there better players, there is just nothing around him or to supply him though.

We could do with some experience to make sure we get into the CL Group Stage and hopefully in the Group Stage some experienced players could prove to be vital. Our 3-0 home leg defeat to Juventus to me was very much down to lack of experience, wise old heads like Pirlo and Buffon really made their experience count in that game and made us look green.

We should sign Kevin Doyle up front and Richard Dunne at center half for their experience, because they're Irish, and most especially to * Awesome Caz off.:smiley-laughing002::celt_2::shamrock::icon_mrgreen::bbpd:

I would have had Dunne in a minute a couple of years ago, now he's lost it though.

That is the style that we need though.

Amazed this thread is still going. Would much rather talk about a player that excites, even if the rumour is invented and not true, like I hope the Doyle rumour is.

How in *'s name can you even think it to be a rumour when a quote has come from the manager's mouth?

The prospect of signing Kevin Doyle is as exciting as a re run of Dad's Army.

I have wishful thinking. I am sure Lennon has mentioned the possibility of signing many players in the past that does not mean the transfer happens. I would be asking the scouts to keep scouting. Celtic should be aiming higher and if we truly need a veteran I would be looking at someone in their early to mid 30s. This type of transfer should be more about the veteran bringing on the youngsters. It should not be too hard to find alternatives. Preferably one who is more noted for sticking the ball in the net.

I'd be more excited about a new Rocky film coming out.

Looking around for a veteran striker that Celtic could aspire to sign and Raul is the one that stands out. I guess the chances of signing him are fairly slim but lets talk about that for the next few months as its exciting. Personally I would try to tempt him back for a final crack at the Champions League. Now there is a veteran that the strikers could learn from. He will have lost the pace but as a mentor to the young strikers, he would be an inspiration.

Raul is the one that stands out that we could get?

He's on about £200k a week in Qatar man.

It doesn't necessarily have to be an exciting signing to be a successful one.

I disagree. We are losing more points than ever yes, but I don't think that's as much to do with experience as it is necessity. No real crunch games in the league this season.

I agree it would be handy for cups though, considering that it's hard to gather any momentum when you can't get consistency in the league.

Experience is what gets you consistancy though, which is why we are crying out for a few older heads in the squad to help the youngsters along.
