Can't believe the grief Doyles getting on here. He needs a fresh challenge badly. He's been battered into the ground playing up front on his own for so long with Wolves and out of position on the right. I'd like to see how he'd get on in an attacking team like Celtic. Much better player than Miku, Lassad and Stokes IMO. I don't think he's finished as a player, Dion Dublin, Ian Wright, Roy Keane - all past it when signed, Doyle has a few years in him yet. He'd be cheap and has no option now but to take a drastic pay cut.

Don't want him, but if he is bought, then I will get behind the signing.

Stokes has proved himself by the amount of goals he scores, thats what strikers are meant to do. score goals, doyle doesn't score enough goals to be mentioned in the same sentence as stokes.

Stokes couldn't get through half the work Doyle could in a match chasing down defenders. Stokes for the SPL and Doyle for the CL would be a good fit.

If we end up with a domestic and Euro strike combination of Stokes and Doyle next season, I will A - be stunned and B - have a reliance on medication for depression levels.

Miku and Lassad don't play for us any more. Also Stokes has proven to get us goals and set up loads so how can Doyle be better than him, when Stokes is younger and can get even better???

He has been playing up top for Wolves for a number of years not out wide all the time. His goal scoring record is *. Who says he will be cheap???

Doyle will be 30 in two months, therefore it's unlikely he is going to get any better. His scoring record at Wolves is rank rotten. He wouldn't make us a profit in a couple of years time, unlike pretty much every other player we sign - well at least we hope we will make a profit on them. He would probably cost a couple of million quid and be one of our highest earners.

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, particularly if we were wanting to sign another, better striker and use Doyle as back-up.

Sounds like he's politely saying that he has no interest in signing Doyle.

Hope so. If he is, I wish he wouldn't be so polite and just come out with it:smiley-laughing002:
