He is extremely quick and has neat passing but that's all he has really shown.

We're yet to see an aggressive streak or any sign of dominance at either end for set pieces.

I think he is another sideways step personally, I wish we would go and spend good money on resolving a massive issue we have had for far too long.

Surely everyone can agree he is much better and more composed on the ball than maj is, and he's playing every week..

Tbh i thought he was pretty * before he got hurt, played decent in the games leading up to the old firm but then was the worst player on the park against rangers and really shat out of a couple of challenges that could have saved some goals. My one distinct memory of him from the game was his failure to close down a rangers player about to take a shot in our box (I think it was lafferty) While loovens who was on the ground tried to take the shot to the face in order to stop it Kelvin sort of just backed away. I really dont think he is the answer at cb although that was his first old firm game so ill give him a couple more games before i write him off.

I thought he looked not bad in the games he played for us before getting injured, but it is a bit worrying that the only big game he's played in so far (September 18th), he gave the ball away for their first goal and we then went on to lose another three after it.

Maybe he just needs a reliable central defensive partner though. Time will tell if he can cut it here.

He had a poor game against the huns, and since then has been injured etc. Worrying that Neil didnt feel he could put him in at CB on Saturday when Glenda went off with a rip in his tights.

Kelvin has still to show that he is going to be the answer. My criticisms of him are that he is not dominant enough in the air and a little quiet actually. Of course he needs another run back in the side.

Big Dan has been playing okay in recent matches and looking a lot like the player he was for us last season.

I fully agree he needs another run of games before he can be judged. My impression from the games he did play though are that he is average. I will be delighted to see him prove me wrong though, and have no problem with seeing him get a chance.

I can't see him getting back into the team. I've always felt he isn't entirely committed. Although Loovens isn't very good , you can't doubt his commitment and recently him and Maj have stepped it up a bit. Especially Maj. For me Maj is a very important player in the side. Not so much for his contribution with the ball but what he brings with good organisation, commanding communication and always sticking up for his team mates in every melee. He's always motivating the younger guys, and you can see it has some level of effect.

Nah he is fast. Very fast for a centre half.

I think Kelvin is suffering on here from the mindset that how a player performs in a Rangers game outweighs everything else he does.

Which seems a crazy mentality to me. To me, a player's performance in an Old Firm game is the least important thing, as far as judging his quality goes. Because an Old Firm game is quite simply not representative of any other fixtures we will play. It's nothing like any other SPL games - and it's about as far removed from a European game as you could possibly imagine.

He is very good with the ball at his feet and has great speed for a centre half, but he isn't great when the ball is in the air. (In either box)

Every game I saw him play up until the game at Ibrox he was good. However, against Rangers he was worse than *. So the jury is still out I'm afraid.

Still undecided about Kelvin, we'll just have to wait and see.

Regardless of that, a quality CB in January is a must.

imo he was excellent in every game he had played for us up until the rangers game. even in that game i can only really remembering him * up 1 clearance, granted it cost us a goal, but ive seen CB's get away with much more than a miplaced clearance in OF games in the past. he was rank rotten again in the next game against ross county which ill put down to lack of confidence after the rangers game.

he has lightning pace for a CB, something we havent really had since Bobo id say, and he seems to be a reasonable defender. he'd definitely be my first choice CB with either maj or mulgrew playing beside him.

I thought he looked very composed up until the Hun game. He looked like he breezed it through the games and had a good amount of pace. He shat it in the O** F*** game but many have. I imagine he will be a first choice once fully fit and I expect him to partner Maj on Thursday as Loovens is out, Rogne is inneligible and Wayama will probably sit between midfield and defence.

I failed to see anything in big kelvin to suggest he is going to be at the heart of celtics defence but hes better than loovens so we need to give him another run in the team.

Think it might be hard for Kelvin Wilson to get his spot back with Majstorovic and Loovens playing well again at centre back , and Rogne and Mulgrew competing for places too.

I believe Kelvin Wilson has played right back before for his old club, so with all the injuries we have to Matthews and Mark Wilson, and Cha being weak defensively, should we try Kelvin Wilson at right back ? Joe Ledley has converted well to left back, and Georgis Samaras has converted well to left midfield, so why not give Kelvin Wilson an opportunity to do the same at right back ?

I can't see Kelvin providing any sort of attacking threat down the right and if we end up playing Brown on the right, that would give me nightmares thinking about their lack of creativity.

I agree that he'll struggle to get into the team. I still can't trust Loovens, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was him that was replaced. Mulgrew, Rogne & Wanyama will be in contention for CB too.

Think he should get a shot at right back. Apparently he has quite a bit of pace about him.
