He wouldn't be a waste of wages. he would be a good player for Europe. Adds great experience. He'll have even more experience after playing a team like Spain. Italy to come aswell.

he wouldn't get a start in the team and with players like kayal, wanyama, ledley and brown in front of him he would be a waste of wages if this was under mowbary or lennons first season then it would be cracking signing but we have better players now

He would be a good sub to have and would get games in the event of injuries. I would like to see us sign him as he has been excellent for Ireland in the Euros so far.

the wages he would want would be to much for a sub. I'm not saying he isn't a good player just don't think the time is right for us to buy a guy like andrews with the quality we already have in that area especially when other areas need strengthened

    This.

Can't see him coming in and being happy to sit on the bench. IF we were to have a couple of our midfielders to leave, then he probably will fancy coming to CP and trying to prove himself to Lenny although it's a big risk, as Broon is a certainty to start when fit and when you think of the calibre and talant of Kayal and Ledley, he hasn't shown me that he is better than the three of them from what I've seen of him. He has looked like a very competent player, but I don't think he'd help us improve for Europe, I feel he can only offer us as another option for SPL.

His wages won't be an awful lot more than Hooper, Forrest, Matthews etc.
Seen as we've offloaded quite a few players I doubt slightly higher wages will be a big problem. Especially because he'll arrive on a free.

Differnce is though forrest, hooper and matthews will be starting most games, andrews wouldnt even make the bench in some games because of how strong our midfield is.

I've only ever seen him play that well for Ireland though. I mean, from what I've seen of him at WBA (and elsewhere) he's not been shocking, but certainly hasn't looked consistently as good as the six or so Ireland games I've seen him in.

Is it worthy paying his kind of wages for a player whose regular club form isn't generally as good as his international form? In that way, he reminds me a bit of James McFadden.

We could do worse, but we could do a lot better too.

I dont think stamina or mobility are anything to do with talent, a talent is more something you are naturally good at and better than others, like good vision, dribbling skills, good finishing, first touch etc. Anyone can have good stamina or be mobile with training.

I would agree though that Neil Lennon was more talented than McCourt.

    That's a fair point mate :50:

The point I was trying to make is that Kayal, the same as Neil Lennon is talented in that they are/were very good tacklers. Which is talent. :50:

Thanks v much, but I'll decline on this occasion :86:

What I meant was, like McFadden, his international form's generally better than his club form. I don't know if he'd be worth his wage.

Yeah id definitely consider tackling/timing of tackling a talent, some players just have it and others dont. Roy Keane is the best tackler I have ever seen and I would consider him ten times more talented than someone like Paddy McCourt.

Bit in bold: I fully agree.

Bit underlined: two words - Nemanja Vidic. I loved Keano, and he was a terrific tackler, but Vidic is just one I can bring to mind who's better (admittedly he plays a much more defensive position though, obviously). In terms of midfield tacklers: Neil Lennon, Bastien Schweinsteiger, Bobby Murdoch, Pavel Nedved, Clarence Seedorf imo.

keith andrews just isnt good enough to get into our squad. if he was to join he would be dead weight playing the odd match given the strength of our midfield at this time
