Yeah I don't get where they are coming from with that either. Also international teams only play a handful of games a season, and I've seen West Brom several times in addition to his Ireland caps.

    No thanks.

See him quite a lot with the national team and I don't rate him. Certainly not for Celtic.

When is he ever going to play ? Kayal is our best central midfielder and an automatic pick in the middle. We then have Joe Ledley and Victor Wanyama who both prefer in there. Scott Brown is our captain and will not be dropped for an average midfielder (whether you believe Brown to be average or not) and Lennon seems to like Ki, taking him to 6th choice surely if he signs. All I am saying is we cannot pay the wages for a 6th choice midfielder that he will be commanding. He would also halt the progress of McGeouch, Ibrahim and Twardzik.

A needless signing and the one position on the park where our remaining wage budget should not be spent.

He could fit in if we played 3-5-2 and played big Vic in defence (with Charlie and Rogne?) and then have Andrews along side Kayal as a kind of force that's hard to break down.

    352.

    Keeper
    Rogne Wanyama Mulgrew
    Matthews Ledley Kayal Izzy
    Brown/Commons/Forrest
    Hooper Stokes

I would have Brown in Ledley/Kayals placeahead of Andrews, probably Ki aswell. If we got a new CB then Wanyama would be the 3rd choice sitting midfielder. Andrews is not needed.

We dont need him for the SPL though. We will almost certainly walk it next year, with or without the huns. If we are going to make signings it should be aimed at Europe, and I dont think he is good enough to play in the CL if we got there. Certainly not ahead of Brown/Ledley/Kayal/Vic/Ki

ki is crap and cant tackle, and an oler head beside brown is exactly whats needed as he will always need to be rained in. As for kayal he has it all to prove after chucking towel in at kilmarnock in 3 each game

Ki is certainly not crao, he may not suit our game and can be too lightweight. But he is probably our most talented centre mid. He has way more ability than Andrews

If he doesn't start he's obviously not the most talented. Kayal is far more talented just in a different way. Ki is a more technical player.

Scottish Cup Final. Just cause he doesnt suit our game doesnt mean we should sell him. He has had a few very good games in the SPL. Dont know why you'd want a 31 year old with limited ability, going toward the end of his career over a young player with bags of potential whose career is just beginning.

Techincal/Talented, whatever you want to call it. McCourt is our most talented winger, doesnt mean he should start. Anyway, this thread isn't about Ki.

I would prefer Ki if it was one or the other. But I would prefer Andrews + £7m or so over Ki any day.

Talent takes into account mobility, tackling, passing, shooting, first touch, stamina etc. etc.

Talent isn't all to do with passing. Neil Lennon was more talented than McCourt for example.

Anyway, back on topic. I'd definitely take Andrews. One of Ireland's best players at the Euros. He's free and free talent is always welcome. Nothing wrong with adding to an already excellent midfield. :50:

Agree with this. We may already have a strong midfield but Andrews is a quality player and I'd be more than happy to have him at celtic

He has been Ireland's best player by a distance in the game and a half so far. Has changed my opinion on him as a player anyway, I thought he was a grafter but he has a good footballing brain as well.

If Wanyama were to go and/or Ki, it would make perfect sense to bring him in on a free imo.

andrews would be a good signing if we didn't have as many talented centre mids he would just be a waste of wages really
