That's a myth too. That was his last contract, with a team relegated. He will be lucky to have as good an offer

At 26k per week and on a free would cost us just over. £1.3m in total for a season....not alot.

I reckon he can be got for. £20k per week

folk on here seem to panic at thought of buying a guy past 30.you cant have a team full of young players it needs to be a blend of experience as well and even though ireland were beaten last night, i thought he looked very decent

He'd probably come here for a season on 20k. We could use his experience in the dressing room and at training even if he doesn't start all the time.

You wouldnt score 9 in 20 in the championship or score goals at international level though would you?

I agree with this 100%. We have a good young side, but could do with a couple of older experienced players. Commons, when he came in at first and towards the end of last season, was a big player for us.

    Young players can be inconsistent.

There are fans here who scream about not signing older players as they have no sell on value, and then when there is interest in those same younger players (Ki and Wanyama for example) , they go nuts at the suggestion of selling them!!

The simple facts are that our side lacks proper experience. And at times, it shows.

England yes but our current squad wouldnt be that well known in Europe even considering we haven't done anything in Europe yet. Andrews has played in one of the most followed leagues in the world for a good few seasons now.

Even here in Ireland not many people that don't follow Celtic could name 10 players in our squad.

Who cares? Being well known doesn't make you a good player, just means people know you, and this isn't always positive. For example....'who's that * that missed that sitter against Croatia?' 'oh that's Keith Andrews.'

I know, and despite missing that sitter he still had an ok game.

I honestly think he'd be a decent signing for us, especially on a free, he wouldnt be a major step up but he is no worse than what we have.

Keith Andrews would be a good option in our midfield I reckon on a free too.He would bring a wealth of experience and some height and strength to our midfield. If Ki and Wanyama exit this window, it would make sense to me to bring Andrews in, think he would be perfect for the hard physical games we would get in the SPL and Europe, and use the transfer monies off the other two, if they do go, to get a brammer of a centre back and centre forward in.
