Yeah, Kayal is a much more of a complete player than Wanyama.

He can do the flying-in-on-tackles-breaking-up-play bit, but can also do the running at the opposition and beating men, as well as the split-defence-with-a-pass. Also not prone to the lapses in concentration that Vic suffers from sometimes.

But he is several years older too, so we shall see...

Agreed. I think Kayal is better, but Wanyama probably has much more potential as Kayal is like 24 and Wanyama only 21.

Cannot wait till Kayal is fit again. Best midfielder at the club along with Victor.

I keep hear people saying Kayal is a far better player than Wanyama, they must be watching different games to me.

I have seen Kayal boss a handful of games, I have seen Wanyama boss the midfield almost every single time he plays. He is also scoring and assisting regularly whilst playing there. Kayal needs to get himself fit and stay fit because he is now in danger of becoming an enigma - playing 2 games then lieing on a treatment table for months at a time. No use to anyone injured.

Good player but more delighted to have Ledley back brings more to side . Think we could maybe move on Kayal can not see him putting Vic out the side.

    Great post.

Like I said earlier, I think Wanyama is a better player. Kayal is better at certain things but overall, he isn't as good.

For a holding midfielder, Wanyama scores mores goals than Kayal, a box to box midfielder. He is a far greater physical presence and dictates the midfield more than Kayal. Plus he is relatively injury free.

Unfortunately, I can't see Wanyama staying at Celtic beyond next summer:54:

What The Hand wrote above kayal is so much better than Wanyama at. Even when he's got three men round about he's the best at the club at getting away and still keeping the ball.

But if somone say's Wanyama is better, a wouldn't argue about it. He's got such a massive presence, always composed on the ball, and our best goal threat from free kicks and corners. His only problem is he sometimes gives away sloppy passes at times, it's as if he losses concetration at times.

A lot of people seem to be forgetting how good Kayal really is because he's out on injuries all the time. (which is no good to no one i know).

having kayal and ledley back makes our squad look so much better.

kayal is our second best player behind victor.

I actually think that Wanyama has jumped Kayal in the pecking order simply because he doesn't have the injury problems and has strung a lot of games together. I think that he will get his move away first and Kayal will end up here longer.

I would agree with that, big Vic is shining right now in the spotlight, hopefully some mega performances in Europe will see him flourish at the highest level.

Kayal has the ability to do well at this level as well but he can't display his talents if he isn't fit.

Bit of a worry the amount of time that he's spent out injured.

Kayal hasn't been fully fit for a very long time. Every time he is starting to get a run of games and regaining fitness, he ends up back on the injury table. There is no doubt about it, when he was playing at his full potential, he was our best player. I dont think you can still give him that title at present because of the length of time he has been out. I am beginning to worry that he might just be one of these unlucky players that is constantly plagued by injury. I seriously hope i'm wrong and he can get a run in the team and back to his peak, starting from tonight.

Wanyama has been booked in six games for Celtic and only been sent off in one of them.

Right off the top of my head I can think of at least twice he has been sent off... Once against the Old Orcs at Mordor last season & against Helsinki.

Now that said, it'll be good to get Kayal back in the team. If the team can do well tonight, perhaps with a few youngsters starting, then he and Ledley can get 15-20 minutes, which would be good.

I didn't say he'd been sent off only once. I said he's been sent off only once in games that he's been booked in.

ok maybe a bit far fetched i think point i was trying to make was when he does get booked i cant bare to watch when goes in for a challenge
cause he is such a big lump of a fella he cant help but barge people off the ball
and in todays game thats a foul :s
