This is a business, I cannot fault him at all for saying this. He deserves far more than he's currently getting

Lock him down for at least 2 more years

I say screw him, he's signed a three year on £7000 a week, he can honour that before he starts mouthing off about a new deal. Just because he's had a good 4 months doesn't mean he's as good as everyone makes out, if he can do it again next season then we should talk. Samaras was awesome for his first 4 months, form is temporary.

How? He doesn't speak much English he can't really lead a team. A good 4 months doesn't mean we should give him the captaincy. Brown is our captain and Lenny won't take that off him.

Kayal does not come across as the kind of player who would walk into Lenny's office and say " Pay me or lose me ". Yes he deserves a better deal and the club have stated this. Hun PR machine in full flow me thinks !

letsface it he's not going any where until the bigger teams see how he does in europe, Celtic should give him a raise ifit's going to keep him happy for the next season then capitalise on the new deal he's given, I'd say wecould get about 9 mill for him from an english club should get go after next season

browns been here 4 years or so! kayal a season! i think brown has earned that right to be captain and the season past under lennon he has proved this for me. kayal will sign his new contract soon. the board are not stupid not to do this and the same goes for izzy. remember kayal is here till 2014! and it will be celtic that decide this no matter what the rags think.and that goes for any clueless tight english club thinking a pathetic and derisery offer of 2-3 m for a guy of this quality will get him.

Fickle fans and their words against Beram Kayal.

The amount of fans calling Beram Kayal a * or words to that extent should hang their heads in shame IMO.

The guy has every right to want more money, he was performed to a high standard and earned it. I'm not going to justify the salaries players earn, because it isn't right, of course it isn't.

However, any of our 'support' calling him a * here, other forums, facebook whatever, if you had no real affiliation to a job, which lets be fair, Kayal doesn't, he's an Arab Muslim from Israel, I highly doubt he grew up a Celtic fan. You are telling me that you would turn back massive wages and a better potential livelihood because you're a truly loyal guy?

    Pish.

Give the guy a break and back him, he's not came out moaning and greeting demanding a move or slating the club, so get a grip and lets see what happens. Also, boycott these * rags who twist every word and watch them go the way of the dodo, it's what they deserve.

    100% agree.
Kayal deserves to be one of the most highly paid players at the club, if not the most highly paid. I have no doubt that we would have won the league last year were it not for his injury. Let's not forget that the stories coming out of the papers are just that; stories. He's said he wants to stay and Celtic, but naturally wants an improved deal, but the anti-Celtic press have spun that to mean he wants away if he doesn't get more money.

I don't think he's a *, but he's waaaaaaay out of line for going to the media. He's either very, very, very badly advised or just downright * cheeky. Don't talk wages in the press, simple.

As I said in the other thread I adore the guy but going to the media about the situation was the wrong way to go about it, in fact there was no need at all because every man and their dog knows he'll be getting a new deal.

Also some of the things he did say came across as mercenary-like to me.

The sooner he signs the deal the better so we can put the speculation to an end.

They shouldn't jump to conclusions though mate, if he seen half the posts he'd be even more likely to go! Bear in mind we have him under a long-term deal so if the worst happens, we can sell him and call him all the * of the day (if he moans for it etc though.) Until then? He should be backed and respected by the support.

    One Beram Kayal.
