It is possible that Thatcher had an an oppertunity to stop the hunger strikers dying but being the headcase that she was she let this go by.
A request was made by a dying Bobby Sands for Thatcher to go and talk to him. This was his right as a serving member of the british parliament. She point blankly refused.
Still maybe he was only wanting to gob in her face.

unfortunately the irish didn't have the luxury of choosing whether or not to be part of this war..it was forced upon them.

The list of this evil * witches crimes could go on & on. If ever anyone deserves a slow, horrible, painful death its this cow. BURN IN * YA TORY *!!! :47: :47: :47:

the ira are scum imo, hopefully every one of the * got shot.

blowing up manchester was a * disgrace, innocent mothers n children ? sickening imo.

so bombings like warrington and omagh where little kids died where legitimate targets weren't terrorist. i was born on the falls road, i know exactly what the IRA (along with the loyalist terrorists) have done to the country, * all but kill, rape and brutalise. Do you actually think for one second that if you were not born in these loyalist areas you wouldn't be loyal to the crowd, support british paramilitaries and maybe so far as the UVF, LVF and so on.....? if you cannot think that far then that's where the problem lies

RACIAL AND SECTARIEN WARS WILL NEVER BE RESOLVED IF PEOPLE PICK AND CHOOSE WHO IS RIGHT AND WHO IS WRONG

thank you Scott1888 and Colin McRae for talking some sense

1888scott ur sound lad, but your out of your depth in this thread ur posts have been naive and ridiculous. Unfortunately innocents die in war, same as in any war that as ever happened.

The IRA are no more "terrorists" than the British army. What gives the British the right to mauraud the globe, invading land while proclaiming those who resist as "terrorists" all the while staring down the aims of their guns.

I have no problem with the word terror, as IRA and effectively any armed organisation, employ the use of terror as a means to an end. It aint pretty but is necessary to hurt oppressors.

And as regards Thatcher, i'll leave it to * to judge her.

i agree with the fact that the british army ate terrorists, them and the american army are the biggest terrorist organisations the world will ever see but the way the IRA conducted themselves,
"Ireland's freedom is not worth the spilling of one drop of blood"

I think it should be pointed out that there is a difference between the R.I.R.A. and the provos.

Lets not forget it was the working class in general that Thatcher despised. The nationality of the working class didnt really matter to her. She just saw us all as the enemy.

for * sake, so if you were born in NI into a prod family in a place you've grown up and work and have friend and because of politics and a war you've never been concerned with , you'd be happy to move on, would you? many people in NI have prod family and friends, open your mind for * sake. most people are happy in NI and power sharing is the best thing to ever happen to NI
