Harsh and perhaps I'll informed. He spoke well if Celtic and only said things about the spl that fans do. Did celtic make him
    an offer to even consider?

I wanted him to stay TBH, we've badly lacked a goalscoring midfielder since Maloney in 05/06.

He never said he was. He spoke well of his time at Celtic but as most fans agree he didn't think spl was that good. He wasn't offered anything by Celtic and had option to go to a club he supported. Good luck to him. He's playing in a better league now

Maybe so, but a smaller club into the bargain (if he signs for PSG). Even if he's a success, he won't get worshipped anywhere as much as would here.

It's poor in comparison to most of the other leagues that our euro opposition play in and leagues that we want to attract players from. There is no money and little interest from sonsors or tv. Sadly

Fair enough on the other countries, but the Irish league is really hurt by the popularity of other sports like the GAA and Rugby over football. Association football is really just second hat over there to just about everything.

But I agree, its a shame that the SPL is compared to the English league. There's no way that Scotland can compete with the amount of foreign investment in those clubs. It's just really annoying when foreign players come here, spend most of their loan spell injured, don't even score many goals, and then say the league is * so they're leaving. I can understand someone like Robbie Keane saying something like that and wanting to go back to the EPL, but not someone like Kamara. He is just not a world class player.

He's good enough to play elsewhere though and will do now. Simples.

Yeah why should he wait about just in case the new guy wants to sign him when he has an offer from a club in a better league. He spoke well of Celtic just not the spl

I agree. The Scottish league in some ways is the most successful league of any country with a population around the 5 million mark. We have had around least 10 appearances in the final of a European competition with 4 different clubs over the last 45 years as well as several other semi final appearances. We have had two UEFA final appearances in the last 10 years. Three years ago Rangers were in the UEFA final and we had just had a CL last 16 appearance, our 2nd in a row. People exaggerate how poor the SPL is. We are a small nation but have had miles more success in Europe than comparible small nations.

NB-many other so called small nations are 2 or 3 times more populous than us-Portugal, Holland, Belgium etc so you cant compare them with us. In western Europe only maybe Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Austria and Switzerland are similar enough to compare to us. We have a vastly better record of achievement than any of those ones. Basically Scotland is top of the pile of the very wee countries in terms of strength of its football tradition and our achievements in Europe. We are punching well above out weight and ought to have more pride in ourselves.

The standard of Scottish football these days is terrible.
This is not helped by the standard of pitches.

Agreed but it's our fans who criticise the club week in week out. The fans have no grasp of reality. As the big leagues moved further away financially our fans expected us to spend to compete and still do. Unrealistic

The standard of Scottish talent has dropped big time over the last 20 years but I wonder how many of these fans can actually remember the golden age when things were better. As far as I am concerned the SPL as a competition was ruined when Rangers in the later 80s and then us in the mid 90s started to financially pull too far away from the rest. In the 80s prior to that the SPL was excellent with 4 or 5 teams in it and a couple of European final appearances for Aberdeen and Dundee United.
