Honestly can't remember him playing now and it's doesn't seem to be something we'll see often. I'd trust BR to identify someone we could use for that money.

I thought he looked like a good player when he played. We were actually really relying on him for the Molde home game last year and they took him out early in the game. He was playing that well.

Any time we get a young CB in they're going to make one or two mistakes and look like a bombscare. Half this forum would've punted VVD and Denayer in their first 6 matches, rather than give them time to settle. You're either perfect or you're a bombscare, no time or consideration given.

That being said, if we've been treating him for 6 months and reckon his injury problems will keep flaring up, we should bite their hand off and get a new CB in as soon as possible.

Don't think the sick note label is fair. He's had one bad injury that has sidelined him for a prolonged period of time. He started 9 games for us before picking up said injury. Think he could do a job and if anything is decent back up to Toure and Erik.

I think it might be a gamble to keep him. I think he is a rally good player but with doubts re him being injury prone then maybe better to cash in

I would keep him, would rather ambrose and boyata were out the door first by a long shot

Ambrose and Boyata won't be going anywhere unless somebody is willing to take them.

Certainly remember him scoring a header at Tannadice, think he might have scored a head at parkhead aswell but not sure. Had a good dig on him too.

No way Boyata will ever be a first choice under Rodgers. This is the guy that got in a new goalkeeper who can keep possession better, no chance he'll want a CB who is as poor as Boyata on the ball. Nevertheless I could see Boyata being a really good player in the English Championship. Ambrose would probably suit a different style of football away from England and Scotland TBH.

Hopefully doesn't go, had a lot to work on but certainly the potential was there last season.

The Balkan boerrigter, should only be sold if the transfer fee is reinvested immediately into bring a creative midfield player in, if the money is not going to be spent, he shouldnt be sold

I agree with some of the posters saying it is a risk to keep an injury prone player. However, given some of the * we still have on our books in Ambrose and Boyata who are both never going to be good enough, I think Jozo needs another season to see if he can keep himself fit for a while because when he was fit I liked what I saw from him.

He is not getting punted, I hope he will play a good part in our season.

Might be better cashing in our chips on Simunovic as Brendan may have decided he is going to be one of those guys that is on and off the treatment table, which is of no use at all.£3.5M is a lot of money to refuse for a player who has been injured most of his time here.
That would leave us with Toure,Sviatchenko, Lustig and O'Connell and possibly McCart could be developed by Brendan. Boyata and Ambrose,I don't think Brendan rates them and will be desperate to offload them this window.

Boyata I think we'd have a few suitors, but I genuinely think no * would touch Ambrose. His contract is up in the summer, if he was to see it out and leave then I would accept that (reluctantly).

Absolute insanity that people want him gone, he looked solid when he played (with a broken bone mind) and if we do punt him then there's a massive chance we will have to endure efe or boyata regularly in hoops again ://

Simunovic wasn't on the Joe Hart charter this morning, as far as I can tell. Does Torino's fee drop if they have to send a 2nd plane to the UK?

Update from torcidagranata.net (excuse the lousy translation):

    Simunovic
I will had anticipated this morning and surprise even Simunovic is at this time in Turin and soon will sign a contract with the grenade .

Jozo Simunovic is now carrying out medical examinations to Fornaca clinic, while Joe Hart has been at the medical center of the Grande Torino sports , before the stop in place for the signature and return to England . Croatian defender Celtic , 22, comes after the attack of yesterday and the offer on 4 million to the Scottish club. And ' the natural substitute Nikola Maksimovic . Another shot , especially if the knee , injured in January , will give the expected responses . He has already played , and well, in the beginning of the season.

Quite disappointing, but Lawwell's business case must have taken precedence here. Sorry to see him go; didn't get a fair crack at it with his injuries.

    Mental if we sell him.

Let him get back playing first and we'll see how good he is. If he's sold then our back up is Boyata, Ambrose, a right back and O'Connell.

Lustig is the only one I trust from that group.
