Coz they've played more. I think Simunovic looked far better than Boyata and O'Connell. Eric has looked decent too still to early to make proper judgment of both these players. It's just a feeling I have.

I liked the look of Simunovic, obviously Toure is not a long term solution but I hope the young guys like Simu and Erik learn a lot from him.

Personally think Simunovic showed more in his 13 or 15 games than Boyata. Far more comfortable on the ball and a * of a lot more composed.

Saw someone elsewhere saying Simunovic is seemingly very highly rated by the coaches, and they think he's an "outstanding talent".

This. I was impressed whenever I saw Jozo in the hoops. You can't say that about most of our recent gambles at centre half.

I would agree with that. I think he looks like he could become a real accomplished and composed defender. The question is more his fitness then his ability for me.

He also looked as if he's made of glass. Breaking down twice through that period, to suggest he'll be our best centre half and away down south for 10 million plus is a massive stretch.

He came to us carrying an injury that was misdiagnosed or not even spotted and then injured his ankle after a bad tackle, he continued playing through his microfracture or whatever it was. I honestly don't get why people keep saying he's injury prone. It was one injury that was not properly treated and he still made 10+ appearances playing like that and he played well in the games he featured too.

Torino are pursuing a £3.75million deal for Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic.
And the Serie A club hope to fly the Croatian international to Italy on the same private jet as England goalkeeper Joe Hart before Wednesday’s transfer deadline

I wouldn't put him in the Boerrigter category just yet.

I never said he'd be worth £10m either was purely picking up on your point about Boyata. I'd rather Simunovic out of the two, easily.

It'd be stupid to sell him now. Let's see how good he actually is first.

Hopefully that is not true - think it would be good to see how he fits with tourer & Erik
And if they really want him surely that is testament enough that he is worth keeping?
Would be bizarre to sell him right now given BR has not even had chance to evaluate him in game

There are some bad/short memories on this forum. His (few) performances in the Hoops were a mix of average to bombscare-ish. He is young and highly regarded by all accounts but based on what he done in his time playing here i was not impressed. His distribution was absolutely woeful and he has a worrying habit of letting high/long balls bounce. Obviously he has potential and i would be open to seeing him play more and develop/improve under Brendan , but those claiming he is set to be 10m EPL export/future captain need to realise those claims are baseless at this point.

    4 mill could be tempting....

Sell , guys a sick note and it's very good money if true. I think we bought a right back so we can convert Lustig to centre half. We don't need this guy so punt.

Serie A side Torino plan to fly Celtic's defender Jozo Simunovic to Italy on the same private jet as potential loan signing Joe Hart to help secure a £3.75m transfer for the Croatia international. Simunovic has yet to play for Celtic under Brendan Rodgers. (Daily Mail)

I'll be surprised if we knock that bid back considering he hasn't played much & such a 'big' fee being offered.

100% agree he may have potiontal but he is a sick note and would snap their hands off for 3.75 million and use it to get someone else in.

Even if I hadn't seen anything of Simunovic, I would still rather gamble on him than opt for Boyata. Boyata has shown he isn't good enough. Lapses in concentration, rash decision making at times, and absolutely shocking on the ball. His best asset is that he is a threat from set pieces.
