I don't think he will be, the guy played with a broken bone in his leg for a month, that would've killed Dirk :smiley-laughing002: Once he's fit again him and Sviachenko will be a really good partnership but only time will tell.

When he was in the team I loved the fact he literally refused to play a gentle pass. Boyata would be square across to him 10 yards away and he'd absolutely volley it. Might not be very safe from a defensive point of view but I could never stop laughing when he did it. There could be a couple of long-range goals in him.

I seem to remember him taking a shot and it was a rocket, don't know if it was on target mind you. It was similar to what Van Dijk did, made me like him more :smiley-laughing002:

Aye I think I know the one your talking about, it was on my mind when I wrote that paragraph, might have been against Dundee United. The guy can definitely strike a ball.

Mulgrew's been quite solid recently but I really cant wait to see Erik and Jozo play together.

If we had a team with more technical ability, some of his passes would be beauties :smiley-laughing002:.

He * leathers it into the feet of the forward when he plays it from the back, you see that with many top sides, whose players are able to then take the ball in their stride or turn quick with it. At us though it just bounces off whoever it's aimed at.

Of course, with that style he does misplace a few passes, but I'd love if we had a higher calibre of player to be able to manipulate his passes because I honestly think our players make his passing look worse than it is. He's probably used to being able to do those passes regularly at Zagreb, they were technically better than us in my opinion, but he'll need to calm it down a bit here. :smiley-laughing002:

Aye passing the ball with power is usually the sign of a confident and technically good player but as you say the likes of Commons, Griffiths, Johansen and some others can't control it.

Maybe get more joy out of it if we see more of players like Roberts, Christie, Allan, McGregor even Armstrong.

3 players who have the most inconsistent first touches I've ever seen, and if there were ever to be any consistency, you just know they'd lean toward consistently * :smiley-laughing002:

He's looked ok when he's played, think he will come good if he gets fit.

Roger Hannah just said on Radio Clyde that Simunovic was in a knee brace on Sunday and could even be doubtful for the Champions League qualifiers. Don't know where he's getting that info from but pretty grim if true.

I like the look of him to be honest. I think he'll nail down his starting place next season.

He could be a Woodgate type player though, really hope he gets over his injuries in the future but not optimistic.

What's the story with this guy, did he have an underlying injury before we signed him ?

Not that I know of. Not sure if he was injury prone in Croatia or whether this has just been bad luck.
