Me too, but the undisputed fact is that he is their worst player in European matches so far, and that nobody in Zagreb doesn't believe that Celtic was negotiating about this player. Good physical predispositions is its only advantage, while everything else makes him below average defender in the Croatian league.

Not true. Those rules now only apply from the group stages onward. We're free to sign and field players regardless if their former club qualifies or not.

 

Is that just a recent rule change? I know when we signed Pukki in 2013 schalke had to go out to allow him to play for us in group stages

 

Not sure which year it changed. Think it's a couple years at least.

In the section on player eligibility, there used to be an addendum that said

"Provided that his former club did not qualify for the group phase of either the Champions league or Europa league."

but that's been removed. It wasn't in last year's rules or this years.

I'm in Croatia at the moment and my taxi driver last night was a Dynamo Zagreb fan so I thought I'd ask him about this lad. He rates him says he's strong and fast and will definitely move to a bigger club in Europe soon. Hail hail lads, big match later lets do them.
