    I know I should be elated and excited that we've brought in a young CB, but for some reason I'm not. Fee seems to range from £3m - £5m. For a reserve CB, £3m seems a lot but £5m ....... We don't spend that amount on a player unless he comes with a written guarantee and from the reports, this Lad doesn't come with one.

    It has the feeling of a panic buy. You know, like Peter/Ronny getting together, talking about the gap Virgil will leave and deciding,
    1. We need a CB.
    2. We need a major fee to show we can spend.
    3. Ronny saying he doesn't want someone in then saying he wants to move to EPL leaving in 12/24 months.

    Jeez, hope this kid is the real deal, but the thought of him up against Van Persie doesn't inspire me one bit.

    Ambrose and Boyata are both right sided CB's... I think it's a straight fight between Mulgrew and Simunovic for the left sided CB spot.

    I like Janko, particularly offensively, but as a unit that is about as inexperienced, shaky and potentially disorganised as you could possibly hope for.

    That would get ripped apart by Ajax and Fenerbahce. I'm hoping we'll see:

    Lustig Boyata Simunovic Izaguirre

    and hopefully Blackett proves to be a good CB or LB and he can eventually become first choice in one of those positions.

    Considering how settled and strong our back line was last season we really need Simunovic to come in and be dominant very quickly. Wonder will he start straight away when we return against Aberdeen. That will be some test for him if he does and for Boyata alongside him.

    Does anyone know what the fee actually is yet? I heard that the 5 million fee is transfer +wages, so £3 million fee, and 10k a week over 4 years
