Don't need to say how bad he was today people can see that, this season he has been * and that may be his last game, but I hope not, I generally think there is a player in there who like a lot of our players in lacking confidence. He was very good for me last season and that's not just talking about the Miller tackle...

Still Erik was dropped and has been hung out to dry for far less than that today and he simply has not been nearly good enough of late.

 

What in the name of Christ are you on about? That's 100% something you've came up with just on what you want reality to be, not a chance has Simunovic been as good as Boyata, who hasn't even been great.

 

He has been dodgy for too long. I think a leader at the back could potentially improve him as he shows glimpses of ability. Just * criminal that we never signed some CBs in the summer. We will get butchered in the EL with him and Boyata at the back.

 

When he is fully fit and head is in the game he has the potential to be a great player..... but he is prone to periods out and seems like a different player this season.

Hard for me to say this but I think it's time we move to get two new first team centre halfs.

I wanted two in the summer, one first team centre half to walk into the side and another to be back up, now we need two new first team centre halfs.

Agree, * Laferty turned like a tank first 5 minutes and he couldn’t get near him. Always stick up for Simunovic cause I think he’s the best CB we got, but his performances this season have been rank. Almost playing like he wants to be dropped.

 

I hate to say it because he's a cracking player on his day but today's loss is on him. Second goal especially, why he just peeled off Lafferty and gave him the whole field is beyond me.

 

Aye if Lafferty is giving you a torrid time, * knows what the Zenit strikers are going to do to you.

Gets caught out big time over his shoulder, can't deal with high balls and doesn't have that turn of pace like Boyata has to get him out of sticky situations. I don't know if the transfer talk over the summer with him 'supposedly' wanting to leave when there was prem interest has affected him but he has been utter * this season.

Jozo is good enough, the whole defence is bad at the moment. We need to be better organised and better as a defensive unit. He has proven he is a player an now all of a sudden he isnt good enough? Doesnt work like that

 

I like Jozo. He's a good player and there is a reason EPL clubs wanted to sign him last summer. All players go through poor patches of form. I'm sure he'll be sorted by the time we play Zenit.
