Would rather see lustig than Bitton in there.
Then again, * it put ajer in. As someone said, bayern away is like a free hit. Not gonna win it anyway, why not give ajer the experience? Rather that than * around with makeshift options.

When did Lustig and Boyata last play together?

 

Yeah gotta go Boyata Lustig, good thing is that gives Gamboa a chance since we'll certainly need pace on the right up against Coman and Alaba.

 

We need to sign new centre backs pronto. Our limited budget must be spend replacing Boyata, Simunovic and Sviachenko.This injury is frustrating news and my patience is up with all three of them. They have been inconsistent and unreliable since the Deila era!

 

Should sell them always * injured.

 

Apart from a nasty challenge in pre season, Boyata hasn’t been injured much under Brendan. Jozo is terrible for it but, need a solid backup

I couldn't agree more. While its a great time to be a Celtic fan and I defer to no-one in my admiration of BR - the club need to learn from their mistakes. Erik's form since the Rangers match at Christmas has been patchy at best even if he wasn't out injured. Jozo is injury prone - simple as that. By not bringing in a decent CH in the summer, we were always leaving ourselves open if Boyata got injured. Frankly, we were fortunate in the CL qualifiers - Biton isn't a CH and never will be.

In Jan, we at least need to bring in an experienced CH to provide cover - either on loan or a short-term contract. In the summer, we need to bring in a top class CH so that we have proper cover for Jozo and Boyata - I personally don't think that Erik will be here next season.

 

If this does not materialise I will be very annoyed. We missed a trick this summer big time. A CB in Jan is surely a must regardless if jozo, Erik and boyata are all fit by then, especially if we make it into Europa league. We need cover or someone who will go straight into the team. If only cover is secured in Jan, we MUST sign a quality CB in the summer. We do not have strength in depth in this area. It is even arguable that we don't even have strength in this area, never mind as back up.

 

Love the big man, easily our best CB at the club when fit but his time spent on the sidelines is now becoming very frustrating.
