    That's a good point.

Ridiculous about vanDijk as well, never once got considered even though at the time the Dutch had an awful back 4. Although in fairness he was just in the door the only time he played CL football with us.

Lot of competition as you say but he's right close to it and with his age I certainly feel he is probably being monitored and close to a call up..

Depends how he feels but being our number 1 centre back, potentially playing in the Champions league every game and performing.... he'd get that call up..

One good thing about the switch to Bosnia is you'd imagine he'll already be able to start for them. So he'd have international football whilst being a Celtic player.

Means he wouldn't be wanting to go to a more attractive league to get international recognition.

    He'd walk into their team.

Coach is apparently desperate to get him on board.

Yep, and the downside is injuries away on duty when we're trying to get him to a stage where he's available twice a week, every week..

Agree with the last couple of comments. Don't think it's done him any harm not being called up yet with his injury record.

He really is a outstanding center half. Future captain material...

Good post. Especially the historical points. As a student of history myself.

He's the nearest to a commanding centre back we have and whats worrying is he was basically within a few hours of leaving us last summer.

Can we clone him and play two Jozo's at the back?

If we can clone a sheep called Dolly in Scotland we can clone Jozo.

Honestly, Lovren could drop out, and we'd be fine. He makes mistakes in crucial games. But Mitrović is fantastic. Jedvaj covers for Vrsaljko. We need Šimunović as an option. But if the NT manager ignores him, then the lad has a right to seek someone who won't.

JOZO SIMUNOVIC has confirmed he will make the international switch from Croatia to Bosnia, as CQN reported yesterday.

The Celtic central defender has grown frustrated at being overlooked by the nation of his birth, despite representing them from Under-16s to 21s levels.

Simunovic, 22, was approached by Bosnian boss Mehmed Bazdarevic and asked to consider his options.

The Zagreb-born centre-half is eligible to make the switch because of family roots.

He said: “I have decided to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“My parents and my grandparents are all from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I was contacted by national coach Mehmed Bazdarevic and after our first meeting he gave me time to think about it.

“I then spoke to all my family and decided to play for my country.

“After that, I had several more meetings with Mehmed Bazdarevic and came to the definite decision I wanted to play for him and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“I stand by my decision and cannot wait to play for them.”

He is the reason poor Summer had to leave.

Apparently he rammed his 15incher right up her * and she had to have life-saving surgery.

    True story.
