    The fact Torino were willing to pay 3-4 million for a player that had been out injured for months set alarm bells ringing with me....this guy is obviously highly rated and I was not impressed that we were about to sell him. Thankfully the signing fell through and we're now seeing the class act that he is.

    I have a good feeling that Sviatchenko is at Celtic for the long term so for me if Simunovic can stay fit and he decides he wants to stay for the long term as well then we have one heck of an excellent center back pairing which given their young ages will likely only get better and better.

    All the Croatians on here and twitter said when we signed him that they were surprised we paid that much for him because they thought he hasn't good enough for us. I'm surprised they underrated him so much, unless he's greatly improved here since his time at Zagreb.

    They were judging him on his performances as a 19-21 year old when he was still raw as *. I mean, even now he is only 22 and is still very much developing.

    Players sometimes just need time and a bit of patience. Stuart Armstrong is a current example of that as well, even Tom Rogic too.
