There is still a player in there, the only concern is his injury record over the last year. Fingers crossed he has put that behind him and shows us what he can do.

I find this hard to believe.

Especially with a decent team like Torino then coming in wanting him to replace their top CB.

From all good sources, including the player himself, he passed the medical and is fit. Now it is time to give him a chance.

From what I recall, he wasn't injury prone at Zagreb. He came here with a bad ankle injury and we stupidly played him through it.

I thought he himself got injured and played through it?

I honestly haven't seen the player a lot seem to have. There are actually montages of how shocking his defending and distribution are in a Celtic strip and he's only been here for 5 minutes.

I thought he became injured pretty early on and then after he was out it emerged that he had been carrying that injury for a while, even prior to when he came?

Could be wrong. I'm sure it was after that game against Fenerbache(I think) when someone went in on him hard and he had to come off.

He had to come off against Molde at home very early in the game. He was a doubt for the game that night with an ankle injury, and then a not long into the game, their player went in hard on him well after the ball was gone. It wasn't a coincidence that the tackle was made on the same ankle that was meaning he was a doubt to begin with either in my opinion.

Yet you defend Boyata regularly, who has looked far worse in both departments.

    I defend Boyata regularly?

My opinion of Boyata is he is good in the air and in the tackle, not once have I said his distribution is good. In fact I state regularly the exact opposite.

The appraisal of Jozo from most is well wide of the mark, up to this point. He has ranged from decent to poor in almost every single appearance. Looked weak in defence and displayed shocking decision making and passing in equal measure.

The Croatian Celtic fans didn't want him here and I keep coming back to that. Why wouldn't they?

I really don't get the hype. For me he has been decidedly mediocre in most of his appearances for us. I hope he turns out to be the player that some think he is/can be but I'm not holding my breath. Doubt he'll be here this time next year.

The only poor game I can remember him having was against St Johnstone at CP. In the others he was, at worst, okay.

Plus he was 21, not long here and playing through an injury seemingly.

Why do you think Celtic were willing to let this guy go? Does Brendan not fancy him or is it his injury record?

The injury record is a definite concern but I also haven't been that impressed with him in the few matches he's played for us.

You do defend him a fair bit. You have previously said that he is a good defender and there is no doubt about it, and also he is is fine if he keeps the passing simple. I've yet to see any of that from Boyata. It just seems strange how you appear to be writing off Simunovic so early whilst not doing likewise with Boyata, who has looked worse.

Money imo 3.5 million is a hefty sum for a guy who's not played a lot
