When he was going I was quite happy however now that the transfer window has closed and we haven't strengthened at the back I'm all chuffed.

 

Every player has a price, and it looked like we were getting a reasonable one from Torino for a player who has barely featured due to injuries.

 

Personally I think the medical staff has told Rodgers he's *.

 

Its fairly obvious that torino were at it here i dont think they ever had any intentions in signing jozo on a perm deal the plan was to get him in italy and try to re-negotiate

we should refuse to do business with them going forward

This transfer made no sense from the beginning. Even if we got more than we paid for last year, Jozo has the qualities to make himself into a top CB. Injury riddled first season that in my opinion was made worse by the previous management and training team. I think he's going to turn out to be a great player for us, hopefully Rodgers gives him a chance and this isn't a sign that he's going to freeze him out.

 

Initial offer was too good to turn down, only reason we agreed to sale imo. I fully expect him to be in the first team once he regains his fitness, he's better than Boyata and Ambrose.

 

Very happy that he is staying.

Hopefully his statement is true and there's nothing wrong with him but i doubt Torino would blame it on a failed medical for no reason.

 

Fair play to Jozo for releasing that statement, hope he turns out to be more than a sicknote

 

He had every right to look at a move to Torino with Erik and Kolo and arguably Lustig ahead of him in the pecking order here. I'm not bothered at all that he accepted a deal to go there. He'll come back and give his all for Celtic. Hopefully he can put his injuries behind him.

That's my thinking now as well. We got offered money that was good to take. Obviously felt that we could make it by without. Maybe this is one time that the board did have another cb lined up for jozo leaving, but when it fell through there was no need.

Glad he is staying, glad to see he released that statement. He knows the fans are behind him, just hope Rodgers is as well and gives him his fair chance.

Ps. Can we insist that torino take Ambrose for * us around?

I thought it was the papers that ran that medical story and not Torino......they just tried at the last min to go from a buydeal to loan deal...?

 

Has Kolo ever played as DM? Just wondering if when Jozo is back it could be him and Erik at CB with Kolo in front shielding them.

I always appreciate a statement like that from a player. Far from an ideal situation, but all we can do is get behind him and hope he can contribute something.
