    Kyogo. A phenomenon
A valuation, I should add, that Tierney aside is higher than any other defender in the squad would likely command.

Thought that was the Celtic vs Molde when we got beat 2-1

Deila’s situation wasn’t helped when defender Jozo Simunovic, who passed a fitness test beforehand, limped off inside 10 minutes.
His replacement Tyler Blackett struggled badly and was himself replaced by Nadir Cifcti late on.

Course there is the matter of how he'll feel about coming back to the club that was prepared to sell you without making any profit 12 months after you joined.

You might be right on that (thought I was). Did he pull up domestically early on as well?

Surely we never sent Simunovic over for a loan. Deffo there side changing the goalposts last minute..

I think he will be a good player for us and hopefully fill the gap as an extra defender when required.

He did well just needs to keep fit. Think torino were taking th episs waste of time for all concerned and wouldnt be surprised if they started the failed his medical rumour

The club and the player have now got to get on with what he can do for us going forward. It could be a bonus. Time will tell if he does have a bigger issue with his knee

Simunovic looks as slow as a big lump a wid. - another Rafael * waste of money. Brendan has obviously seen the 5 mins he's played for us and said Naw !!!!! . Trust the Manager here.

I don't think he's unfancied at all. I think we got a decent offer for what looks like an injury prone player. If he gets back fit and playing he can certainly force his way back into the team

JOZO SIMUNOVIC’S £3.5million transfer to Torino is now dead in the water, with reports on the Continent insisting he HAS failed his medical.

Sources in Croatia earlier today told Record Sport Online the Celtic defender’s knee had not passed rigorous examinations.

Sky Sports and the BBC claimed the deal was still on – and that the hold-up was down to Torino’s offer being changed.

But it is now widespread in both Italian and Croatian media that the issue was due to his knee.

Simunovic is quoted as saying the injury has been "invented". The 22-year-old, is now due to return to Glasgow, added: "Imagine saying I have problems with a healthy knee."

Earlier in an interview with Sky Sports as the deal hung in the balance late afternoon, Simunovic said: "I'm done with the medical checks. Everything was fine and Torino and I have agreed personal terms. Everything is now with the clubs and they need to find an agreement.

"I am ready to go back if the clubs cannot find an agreement. I just want to play football."

He did not fail any medical. Any suggestion he did is a complete fabrication from rags that are continuing to dig themselves a deeper hole when the player himself has said he passed the medical and agreed terms.

Jozo Simunovic has vowed to return to Celtic and fight his way into Brendan Rodgers’ plans after a proposed deal to take him to Serie A hit the buffers last night.

The Croatian defender was poised for a switch to Seria A with Torino after sharing a flight to Italy with England goalkeeper Joe Hart yesterday.

However, the deal collapsed late last night after agreement could not be reached between Celtic and Torino, with the Italians attempt to make the move a temporary one-season loan which did not suit the Parkhead side who were holding out for a permanent contract.

Simunovic has toiled to make an impression with Celtic due to a number of injury issues – and while reports from his homeland claimed yesterday that he had not passed a medical in Italy, the player himself insisted that was not the case.

When asked if he was happy to return to Glasgow if a move failed to materialise, Simunovic replied: “Yes, of course, that is no problem for me. I am ready to go back if the clubs cannot find an agreement. I just want to play football.”

Hope Rodgers gives him a chance. I'm delighted he's still here.

Erik, Toure, Lustig and Simunovic. That's a good group.

If we play with 2 at the back thats Gamboa and Lustig fighting for RB and if we play 3 at the back Lustig,Jozo,Toure and Erik fighting for 3 places + Oconnel for Cover. Sounds good for me. :50:
